  1. If you hold down the letter 'O' on many keyboards (iphone for example) it brings up a range of options and if you dont have a Norwegian layout then you'll find the Ø under O and Å under A. Might help with the search? To add to Mikes description Vedovenen means The Wood Oven, or The Wood Stove.
  2. Even if fully seasoned? Just seen your reply.
  3. Good grief. You could not make this up. A Tax on the Poor? What if the product is a luxury item? Something wanted but not needed by the poor. There is millions upon millions of people who are not classed as poor and are allowed to purchase items other that the bare necessities of life. Selling Millions of £20 items will create work for a lot of people, it keeps many in jobs. It also generates a lot of tax all along the chain. But Im glad we agree that Communism is a failed experiment.
  4. In your opinion is selling a £20 product to a few million people wrong? Should people be banned from buying the product or should the person selling the product have his money taken away from him? Your POV is very confusing.
  5. That old Chestnut. Honestly? Thats your answer to all the failed attempts at Communism? The 'right' Communism has not been tried yet? So we'll just keep killing millions upon millions to the 'right' Communism is found?
  6. He must work on a collective farm or something? Clearly getting paid for his work, aka 'riches' goes against his ethos.
  7. No, I don’t know it. What be both know is the top earners, the 1%, pays over 25% of Income Tax in the U.K. This 1% pays in more income tax than the bottom 90% combined. Chop their heads off, which you seem to indicate is the solution, and you’ll end a very much needed revenue stream. Stripping these ones of their wealth out of frustration and Marxists greed will bring a very short burst of funds but ultimately we’d end up like every other communist and socialist country. Broke and destitute.
  8. Ha ha, nicely edited. I see my admonition to Mr Bond worked on well on you. Now do carry on being a good boy.
  9. That’s just an assumption and not based on a single fact. Its an irrelevance. If they own £770 million then they’ve most likely paid the same in tax, which I’m sure you’re grateful for. Eating the rich is not the answer. It pure greed and jealousy.
  10. Why should they pay the price? They’ve earned they’re money and paid a significant amount of tax on it. Most likely employed hundreds if not thousands of people. What are you actually expecting from them? Everything including the shirts in their back? Or just the majority of their wealth?
  11. Thick cunt Steady now Mr Bond. I'll suggest you edit that post, its offensive and not language for a public forum. Id hate for someone as intelligent as yourself to get a few days in the sin bin.
  12. Really? You may well be right but if that's the real answer I'm disappointed, you would be reusing the guide beam so the second time you can't tell if the lines are new or not. And the beam is usually snug, not gripping, but snug to the beam. At least mine where. This helps helps everything on track. There was very little chance the saw could go off vertical. I certainly would not be relying on three grub screw tracks that cause undue friction/drag to tell me Im milling off of vertical. By then its too late anyway.
  13. I dont actually agree with that. Isolation of those genuinely at risk could still be implemented. Thats the old, the fat and those with health issues that would make them more likely to die of the Virus. Going back to work with measures put in place can greatly reduce the risks not to mention we're all much more conscious of the dangers and how to minimize them. Those not able to return to work would be paid just enough to cover bills and essentials, potentially having extended mortgage and credit card holidays til they can return to work, so the tax payer is not footing their bills. We're gonna be paying for this for a generation at least. The sooner we get back to some form of normality, and that can be a new Covid normality the better so as to minimise the NI, VAT and Income Tax burden we're all gonna face. Which would be vastly unfair on those who continue to work and have no or little assistance from the Government. Its the Old, Fat and weak that need to isolate, that vast majority do no. Lets get this shit-show back on the road.
  14. Cold Turkey! Its the only way. Give them enough money to pay the Bills and buy Tesco Basic food and they'll soon feel its safe to come outta their homes.
  15. There is also a huge number of people who have fallen for the media driven hysteria and and totally sheet scared about going back to work and catching The Big Rona.
  16. I think they will still get the 80% up to £2500, but their employer will somehow be asked to pay up to 50% of this? I seriously think those on Furlough should be offered 40% of their wage and we'd soon see them desperate to return to work.
  17. I offered him a half day when we initially agreed to do the job, but when I arrived on site yesterday I told him that wont be happening again. I told him it will be a day rate in the future. But I worked longer than 7.5 hours though. It was closer to 9 hours, so I charged him from when I arrived till when I was packed down. Do you guys just take it on the chin if the job takes longer than a day? Or just pack-up when your times up? Is packing-up included in the day-rate, ie when you work 08:00-16:30 is 16:30 the time you're starting to pack down, or is it when you stop milling, then pack down in your own time? It took me about an hour to have everything securely packed into the Jeep and the Mill secured down to the Bed, Side Winders up and secured and hitched up.
  18. I should not complain about being sent away again so soon. Its work after all. Six weeks on and two off hopefully wont last for long though.
  19. Cheers Dave! My Log Deck is notched for a 4" Beam. I have some Beech milled to 4" I'll use. Unfortunately I'll be heading back to Norway again the morn for another 5-8 weeks.
  20. I know my limitations and I now know the limitations of 4" Softwood.
  21. Today I was milling for a local Firewood supplier. Some European Oak he saved from the Log Pile that will be turned into a table. And some Cedar, at least he said it was Cedar, sure never smelled like it. He’s got a lump of Walnut sitting round the back. 25”-30” diameter and 2m long. He’s held it back for 4 years but it does not look rotten at all. Hopefully I’ll get slab out of it when i come to mill it. Out of interest. When you guys are milling and you’re charging by the hour do you charge from the time you start setting up till you’re packed up ready to leave? Or just the milling time?
  22. I dont recall changing the word at all. So I'll put it down to a typo.
