  1. will be using our daily tipper. 3.5ton tow, 7 ton on the tipper hehe
  2. wednesday btc £7.8k Today £9.1k 72 hour return 17%
  3. money on 7% compound return doubles in 10 years.
  4. Comes with stricklands buckets, we have them on the 5 tonner and the telehandler. They are ok. I did look at the taki but its not quite as good in terms of reach, dump etc its also a lot more 'agricultural' shall we say. Not that that is a bad thing! The 27 is a good machine as well just a bit smaller. looking to max out the trailer ! It's going on an Indespension Alumax (unladen 580kg) so with the buckets on the tipper and extra air in the tyres will just about be legal!
  5. she has two pumps now so multitasking easier
  6. So lets say grant aunt Mildred has finally stopped coffin dodging, costing the NHS a small fortune and left you £100k. What you do with it ? Not exactly life changing sum for sure, but still a not inconsiderable sum. Car ? Hols ?
  7. Having a new digger priced up at the moment, we have opted for the largest one we can tow that has the best reach/dump on the market. Without boring you all witht he spreadsheet with the specs of pretty much every model on the market, the KX71-3 comes out on top, its been replaced by KX040-3. It has an option of 'high spec' which gives : Im waiting on the extra cost, would this be a useful feature ? We will keep the machine for 10 years so want to get it right, a couple extra grand now for something we may not use now but could be useful in future would be no problem.
  8. dont forget a £40k PAYE salary is not the same as a ltd co salary. You wont be paying tax for a couple years as you will be loaning the company cash to startup/buy kit. you get to pay yourseld this back (and still have the kit to sell in future) and its not income so no tax. Once you work for yourself you really dont want to 'earn' much more than your tax code in wages, find a decent accountant (NOT a bookeeper) and he will work for free in what you are not paying in tax. In fact when I started my first business I was a higher rate taxpayer at the time and had a very good tax refund the first year of trading. I wont mention the tax credit joke/gravy train if you are eligible for it.
  9. your going about this wrong. First is to make a plan, what is your goal for turnover and profit in 3,6,12 months etc ? Then make a plan to achieve it which could involve costing kit for the types of job you are looking at and making a judgement on profit/cost for that kit. The amount of startup money should be a secondary issue. Cart before the horse mate and good luck in your venture.

you cant honestly compare china and new Zealand...
  11. i was being flippent as the windows are the only difference between the car and the 'van'. pretty silly isnt it which is probably why its never been enforced.
  12. and were back to windows. Windows is what dictates the speed on a disco. Not that I believe that, drive a disco commerical for 6 years at car speeds and been past loads of cams. Never had a ticket.

thats the labour plan, the magic money tree. Gov debt is bought (bonds) and we pay the bond holders ££££££££ then we buy the bond back at some point. Gov paid the last £2billion first world war bond in 2015. Now for the Labour magic money tree, if you just print money all the money becomes worth less. This means when you sell bonds to raise real cash the gov has to pay a LOT more interest on them as they are effective worth less due to the magic money tree. socialism never works, there isn't a single example on the planet of it being successfull. Nice to see 3 pages of comment and not a single one disagreeing that we need and require more austerity.

So in the local last night we were all moaning on how crap the NHS is now. That is to say cant get a GP appointment, cant get an op if needed. If your on the side of the road dieing then you get rapid treatment as they cant really put you in a 8 month queue can they. On the other hand if you need a cateract, hip operation etc then no chance. The general gist was it needs more money or the doctors need a paycut so there can be more of them. Some facts about the money situation for England. Current account 2017: Income from all forms of tax - £730 billion. Total spent by the gov - £780 billion. Net result Added to the UK credit card in 2017 £50 billion. 2017 Annual credit card payment on top of the above: £46 billion. Now lets look at the NHS, gov spent £124 billion on it in 2017. Lets give NHS 10% more (not enough for the aging population) so we need to find nearly £13 billion. Now bearing in mind we are negative £46 billion add to this £13 and we now need to find £60 billion. VAT generates £120 billion so if we increase it by 50% that would cover it. VAT rate of nearly 40%. or maybe jack up income tax. UK gets £229 billion, abolish the 22% rate so everyone pays 40% would do it. So when you next see a loony lefty moaning about 'austerity' point out the nonsense they are talking. Couple links to get info on figs. https://fullfact.org/economy/interest-payments-national-debt/ https://www.ukpublicspending.co.uk/government_expenditure.html
  15. also fuel, tyres, servicing etc etc Road tax is van rate as well not £600 odd car rate.
  16. by decimation you mean country has no cash is borrowing a stack every month to balance the current account. So your choice is jack taxes up to cover the gap and then some if you want to spend more than now as you seem to want. Which taxes you going to jack up then ? Typical labour muppet.
  17. the point being a 7 seater disco is 2.7 tons. Car speed limits. 2 seater disco with rear window blanked 2.7tons. so the crucial deciding factor is windows....
  18. Not quite right. Weight is irrelevant, all rangeovers would be classed as vans if weight was the issue. Don't have to have second row seats. Don't have to have rear windows (disco commercial has them but are blanked) Car derived vans keep car speed limits. Landrover disco commercials therefore keep car speeds. Other make pickups are not cars as they have no car option. It all boils down to a window tax really as far as disco commercials are concerned. They take a normal vehicle remove the rear seats, blank the rear windows and ta da its a van for tax. You can put seats back in but as long as the windows are blanked you are good. Pretty perverse really, making the vehicle more unsafe by restricting vision in order to carry goods is the only way the tax man will wear it.
  19. on the radio it just said they were operting these projects on a 3% profit margin. Doesnt take a whole lot to go wrong and you make nothing.
  20. try talking to the landlord ? If you play the nuke card first you have no more cards to play. Be reasonable and friendly until its time not to be.
  21. my atlas is 2ton on short, 0.8ton on third extension. will lift a jumbo just about on full reach or a full pack of bricks/blocks on short.
  22. try and avoid the 12v pack I got one on mine and it gets VERY hot if you make it work, im on my second. Get PTO version, I'll be changing mine to PTO once its out of warranty. if you talk to your van company they will have a kit for the gearbox to mate it to an off the shelf pump.
  23. in the building we request lines are sheathed if we need to work close to them (scaff). WPD dont charge for this.
