  1. 11 plate Renault Trafic van - no motorway work - just A and minor roads - 1/3 loaded = 38mpg
  2. Apparently Mole Valley Farmers were going to buy all 48 Country Wide stores but the Competitions Authority put the mockers on it. MVF may end up buying individual stores once CW has been broken up.
  3. Is it the correct chain for the bar, if the chain is sloppy in the bar groove (I mean side to side, not chain tension) the cut will veer off.
  4. The reason I ask is I have a 7 month old WHFT puppy she is bloomin hard work. I've had puppies before but never a terrier. She appears to be suffering from snow blindness in this picture!
  5. The later trucks were uprated to 5 tons payload and it's a fairly straight forward mod to uprate the earlier trucks. Owners have had success with fitting 14" wide tyres instead of the standard 12" ones which improved the off road capabilities alot. As an aside Withams regularly have tyre auctions where they sell off the MOD's surplus stock of new and part worn tyres, lots of 16" diameter and bigger off road tyres in lots of 4. Plenty of bargains to be had. As an example: http://www.mod-sales.com/news/171/MASSIVE_ON_LINE_AUCTION_OF_100_+_LOTS_inc_4x4_tyres_-_Ending_Thursday_26th_October_2017_at_12_noon.htm
  6. Is he a Wire Haired Fox Terrier?
  7. Approximately 50 Leyland DAF T244 4x4 trucks up for auction, some with winches and cranes. https://www.bidspotter.co.uk/en-gb/auction-catalogues/timed/witham/catalogue-id-witham10057 Starting bids of £1500, no buyers premium but VAT on the hammer price.
  8. She is 70 years old this year, kept outside and she still fired up in temperatures of -6°C to clear the track of snow.
  9. But your quite happy to watch a service that in your opinion funds paedophiles!!!
  10. I installed a boiler stove into my new build last August and im really pleased with it. Its made in Slovenia and it has a cooling coil running through the boiler so if the stove goes over temperature a valve opens allowing mains cold water to run through. It's plumbed into a 205l direct thermal heat store with an heat exchanger to provide hot water to the taps and shower.
  11. Ash was commonly used on coach built cars for the framework, I'm pretty sure that the Morgans are still built with ash. For the cladding you want something durable, stable and light, I'd go for Cedar of Lebanon.
  12. http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-bristol-42862025 Oops, was it you?
  13. What size, be interested in some to plank up on my Woodlands bandmill.
  14. Edited with the crucial step added! If I read that correctly at 0.79 Amps at 50Hz: 0.79 x 230V = 0.182 Kw 0.182 x £0.15 (cost of 1KwH of electricity) =2.7p per hour 0.027 x 8766 (hours in a year) =£237 If you have 3 fans: =£711
  15. So I did, still wiping the sleep from my eyes. Mind you it would have made him Crap his pants at the cost!
  16. If I read that correctly at 0.8 Amps at 50Hz: 0.8 x 0.15p (cost of 1KwH of electricity) =0.12p per hour 0.12 x 8766 (hours in a year) =£1052 If you have 3 fans: =£3156
  17. Out board turning, big bowls coming?
  18. For some reason other drivers tend to throw their cars in the hedge when they meet me driving 'Daffy' through the country lanes!
  19. There are a lot of young beech trees that have seeded from the ancient beech trees that form the boundary of my woodland, they range from about 300mm to 1500mm high and I'd like to transplant them to more suitable areas. What are the survival rates like for transplanted trees and what can I do to increase the chances of them surviving? Cheers. John

  22. ^^^I can't see that roof lasting long with a snow load!^^^
