  8. Great post and I completely agree! That's actually more or less exactly how I attained success.
  9. In this instance, it makes sense to work with a competitor and I do it often for far lesser reasons. The only thing that can essentially 'go wrong', so to speak is if they pinch your regular client, but how likely is that to happen anyway? IMO, not very as I find my clients tend to be quite loyal.

  12. Even though I operate under a LTD company (for a plethora of reasons), I think there is a lot of value in operating under your own name as this adds a more personal touch. When looking for a service, do you sway more towards hiring the faceless company or the sole trader who seems more personable and accessible. I personally go for the latter, but perhaps that's just me.
  13. I am sure that the only way is for him to contact the NPTC directly. They absolutely won't communicate any of his info to a third party (DPA). From his perspective, it would surely be a wise (and not too large investment) for him to have his own certificates to hand for job interviews and so on.
