  1. Very close to Umberleigh
  2. We have a felling job in Devon coming up and was after some contacts for selling the timber. We don’t work anywhere near normally so a bit clueless! We have approx 1200 tons of mature larch, some will be done as biomass some as saw logs. Any help would be most appreciated
  3. At the end of the day it completely depends on the type and size of work your going to be doing. Also if your looking at doing your 38/39 you need to think about a top handle saw. Unless you’ve got oodles of cash it all takes time. I have 160t, 200t, 362running either 15” or 18” and then 576 running either 18” or 24”. I’d like a 661 size saw but don’t currently have enough work for it as I know I can borrow from other people when necessary
  4. Sorry I meant I’d choose the 562 over the 560, I know you can swap a 560 to 3/8’s too.
  5. Definitely incorrect. You don’t need anything to do CS38 and only need 30/31 and obviously 38 to do your CS39. All CS32 teaches you is how to cut down a tree that’s bigger than your guide bar, I.e come in from both sides etc With regards to the saw I’d go pro 60cc STIHL / husky. I have a 362 but would probably go husky 562 just because I prefer 3/8 chain

  7. I’ve got the short one use it as a tip anchor as well which works well
  8. Used both in plant trailer format. Tri axle is a lot harder on the trailer and vehicle to manoeuvre I found. But I’m guessing easier to spread the load and less stresses on 3 axles than 2
  9. Has to be ropeguide for me. Original is still the best for my needs
  10. 2.2 ranger and new L200 with the more powerful engine both did/do around the 20 mpg towing a trackie and 25-30 without, although I do drive them hard
  11. I use tachyon with mine. Much better than the Petzl one imo. I’ve also put a DMM swivel on it and it’s transformed it
  12. Do it you won’t regret. So much better than a hitch in my opinion. My zigzag is just for ddrt nowadays too
  13. That one is an old machine. They have changed the design so the plate has a bigger gap between it and the spring etc so less build up. When doing a lot of green material we can be cleaning it out every few days
  14. Look at these two locations normally the culprits
  15. Quick question to HAAS users. Are both ends of the bungee tied to the little clip or just one like on mine? I’ve used it half a dozen times but don’t feel like I’m getting a full extension...
  16. Can you tell us anymore about the ZigZag4?
  17. Personally wouldn’t go for the foam filled ones. Very heavy and unnecessary. We work on the power lines and have 8 rods in a team, which does most jobs. I’ve seen 16+ rods being using with a saw head but very hard work [emoji23]
  18. Didn’t like the lanyard over the shoulder to be honest. thanks MattyF I’ll give that a try
  19. Just wondering if anyone had a neck tether they were no longer using and wanted to sell it? Gustharts are out of stock and honeys want to charge £9 on a £24 item [emoji849] Let me know thanks [emoji106]
  20. Just got myself a wrench and using it with my Zigzag. There’s almost too much friction being produced by the wrench making it difficult to operate the Zigzag. Any ideas?
  21. 5.2mm is a STIHL only size (possible money making scheme?) The 5.5mm will work fine and would be what Oregon suggest anyway. On the STIHL chart it suggests 4mm on a 3/8” PICCO which is what you would find on a 201tc climbing saw for example. Normal 3/8” is 5.2/5.5mm
  22. 200t all day long ported or not. Echo feels cheap and underpowered, husky breaks.... A LOT, 201tc which gets used daily (work saw) keeps having niggly problems - cuts out won’t start properly very annoying. I’d rather use my own 200t but don’t want to wear it out [emoji23][emoji23][emoji23]
  23. Thanks Khriss, luckily it’s not my trailer but I will suggest this to the boss and / or swap it with a TR6 that’s on a bigger trailer anyway
  24. Our TR8 sits on a 8x4 and the ram has gone already after approx 4 months. I’m sure it’s from the TR8 being misbalanced on the trailer, or a dodgy ram on the Ifor trailer
