  1. I may cop pelters for this as ive heard orhers trashing them buuuuut .. i really like the husqvarna technical type A's,they fit perfect and are light and airy in the warmer months.Havent had em long so i cant comment on longevity yet but so far so good.
  2. We as arbs are gonna pick up on a few things but i wouldnt chin you for em. I liked the vid, shows all your skill sets. Glad your busy Good luck mate
  3. Really sorry too hear you've lost your companion.Bet he was a crackin lad. Lost my collie a while back so i know exactly how you feel.It will get easier with time mate.
  4. It annoys me when people say ddrt is unergonomic...hip thrusting on a prussik is, but i can use a knee ascender on a footloop and a ct foot ascender on ddrt with a zigzag. Thats as ergonomic as srt Ive tried srt- well ive fannied around with it- but i dont do big trees that often so my kit mostly lies in the lockup gathering dust.It definetly has its merits and if your getting on a bit and i can see how you would think it assists your ascent but ddrt with the system ive described above is just as ergonomic..so there If your knackered ascending up then may i suggest the use of a wonderful invention called a ladder...very ergonomic
  5. Recently got one, really like it. I clip my saw on my harness when not in use,i dont like it swinging around.
  6. You could run a larger bar 30 for example with a half or full skip chain. The cutting will be slower but it will put less strain on the engine.
  7. I remember finding porn mags hidden in bushes when i was a kid... Everytime i cut laurels now im always keepin my eye out for a jazz mag.. Just thought id share that
  8. Why frozen? Sorry mate had to ask...
  9. I train because i enjoy it,kinda like a release after the day to day stresses if work and life.Ive got a better, fitter, slimmer body now at 45 than i did when i was 25. I like to keep my training fresh so i have no set program,i just do what i feel i want to do in the gym whether it be cardio based resistance training, weights or hiit but im luvin my calisthetics-(body weight training) right now. In my experience its the nutrition side of things that really make the difference. I dont find my training affects my work capabilities ive always been a pretty fast worker. Its needs to be a balance though,i still like a beer now and again and a slice of cake-i just offset my indulgencies by training and eating carefully the next day. Really cant do a lot of alcohol now, hangovers kill me and i chase people down the street for a fag when im pissed!
  10. Why..why...why..??? would you sell a 461..
  11. I recently discovered the joys of a 346xp.. Love,love, love it!
  12. Had a lad turn up for a weeks work experience from the dole,he was utter shite, never off the phone,always- "away for a fag" or scratchin his arse, lasted 2 days and never showed the rest of the week. About a month later my boss came out and asked who this person was who had asked him for a reference... Yip you guessed it the same fu##wit...
  13. Sorry mate the way i wrote that last post does sound like im rubbishing the butterfly when its the avao i was talking about. I liked the komet butterfly, probably the best harness ive had, lasted about 3 years too.And yeah i think the quality of some kit has stalled or even declined while the prices increase, manufacturers gettin lazy imo
  14. Tried one couple of years back before i got my komet butterfly, bloody awful...nut smasher. Everyone different though.. Maybe ive just got massive nuts
  15. Just a wee reminder that we can all get complacent... https://youtu.be/QmqOhkXYfJ4
  16. If it wasnt for connie bashin id be potless...easy money for most of us,can be tiresome doin big hedges though..
  17. So your climbing on both ends of your rope then. Thats a perfectly acceptable way to climb, although very basic it does have some advantages and its best to learn the basics first. Once your more confident in the tree you can start playing around with configurations and friction devices but for now learning the basics and getting your confidence up is more important. Look on youtube for some good tutorials on tree climbing. As suggested above the climbing arborist is very good
  18. Dont be afraid to be afraid, fear and trepidation keeps your senses heightend and ultimatley keeps you alive. Confidence will come with time and more climbing. Perhaps when your feeling nervous, just take a minute-breathe deep-and tell yourself"I ll be fine,im just being irrational". No one gets to be a great climber overnight,it comes with experience so go easy on yourself. One tip i will give you is TRUST YOUR GEAR... You ll be fine mate
  19. Maybe im just a lazy barsteward but any issues with the saw and it gets sent down and another saw sent up. Tinkering with a saw in tree-unless its summit really basic-is best left to the guys on the deck in my opinion. I think a clove hitch is a great tool in the armoury though and has some good applications
  20. That appeals to my OCD nature... but i still dont fancy it..
  21. You really dont want to deny a smoker a fag now and then, ive seen it result in problematic machinery being ejected from the tree. Its ok though it was a 201tc...
  22. Videos dont work for me on android wes
  23. I had a 020av,ran it for a while, can pull a 16"bar no bother.Very heavy though. Mine stopped working, probably an easy fix but they are an absolute bitch to service nevermind sort so i left it in the lock up for a couple of years. Sold it too some fella on here just a while back.
  24. Looks like an immitation petzl avao harness, and those are really shite!
  25. Sheet bend, marlin spike and bowline. Teach em a prussik too for setting up a 3:1 pulling system
