  1. Let's hope some local people will take me up on the offer when I've got C30/31. I can't believe I got no take up of unpaid offers last time. I can only assume it was lack of any tickets.
  2. D4 I reckon
  3. Some interesting points here. How do you go about assessing these desired traits? What would make you give someone a go?
  4. Soooo... From the answers it appears 38C is preferable to a C38?
  5. Triathlon. Normally iron distance once a year. Cycling (as a standalone alongside for triathlon) Tinkering Cider drinking
  6. Operative card stopped being issued in July 2014. I take it the labourers card would be the next option?
  7. I thought AdBlue was in use in cars already - Mercedes, Peugeot, Vauxhall and bizarrely VW themselves.
  8. They should be, as they're designed to sit on the outside of a motorcycle helmet.
  9. I can drive 7500kg or tow 3500kg with 3500kg Although you should see me reverse a trailer How do you get a CSCS card, haven't here been loads of threads about needing a special CSCS for arb?
  10. I have the pre 1997 C1+e licence Will to work Promp Keen Are any other quals / tickets worthwhile?
  11. Had an interestign chat with a trainign provider the other day, which got me thinking. As I'm trying to move my career over to arb, I'm puttign myself on or through training. Currently waiting to get on my C30 and 31. I'm waiting for the learning agreement from Capel for the online RFS level 2. What else would you want, bearing in mind I don't have a lot of experience. If someone turned up asking for work experience / becoming a trainee / groundie job what would you want? C30/31 is prettyy much a given. C38? Chipper? Grinder? ISO 3103?
  12. Just remembered I need to get a photo off to the training provider. Hope to hear from the college about the online level 2 as well. I imagine they're a bit busy at this time of year Then I need to look for experience!
  13. You always need to use max weights. It doesn't matter that a 3500kg trailer only weighs 750kg empty, or a 3500kg transit is only 1100kg. Put the two together and they become a 7500kg combination. The new rules do say something about theMAM of the vehicle and trailer, so you can't tow a 2 tonne trailer behind a fiat 500 :-)
  14. Yes Jon, never seen it given away. I don't even forage in the copse any more since the forum said it was thieving. My other half thinks I'm bonkers.
  15. Shame i never see this round Bristol I have no shame 😄
  16. I may be interested if you have any really basic starter kit
  17. One of the larger pest control companies state categorically there is no protection Are Bees Protected by Law
  18. This is quite interesting It seems that Bees aren't protected per se, but there may be some kind of ownership issue if its a swarm from an owners hive. There's also a code of practice for dealing with feral bees http://www.bbka.org.uk/local/lincolnshire/bm~doc/living-with-bees.pdf
  19. I've just signed up for the ABC online course. I'd have loved to have been able to wake a year or two out and go to college full time. I'd have gone for the level 3 I think. Looking forward to getting signed up.
  20. Some lovely looking dogs :-)
  21. Does anyone take their arbdog to work with them? Leave them in the truck? Current concern with moving my career to arb is what to do with the dog. She's had a crap start in life and we're trying to make it easier for her
  22. That's what i was thinking. Depends what kit you've got too I suppose. As for the other bits you can either spend he time fiddling, or avoid that part of the test and fix it later when you have time / funds.
  23. New brakes all round shouldn't be too expensive. Take the tow electrics off (for test) You could put it in for a 'daylight use' test (mask off all the lights at time of test) Is the windscreen covered by insurance? Door panel could possibly be sorted with a small patch welding over?
  24. It was windy overnight but settled down. Looks like its drying out here for now. Bad forecast and flood warnings for the North East :-( 2 inches in an hour!
  25. I have the application form for Capel college in my pocket. Enrolled on the C30/31. That's a£1k to pay out on training in the next 3-4 weeks. Then there's the 'Tree surgeons are like confetti' thread and lots of people saying they're short of work. Is this really the best idea? The OH has just been out and bought a new Cashcow too.
