  1. Found this located at the base of an Atlas Cedar today. Haven’t seen anything like this before, especially on a cedar and I’m struggling trying to ID it online and haven’t got an fungi book on hand. Any help would be great [emoji1303]
  2. Having to perform one handed pulls in the tree you’ll soon be gassed out
  3. Finished some dirty Pop re-pollards today
  4. Luckily I'm an idiot and not as bad as first thought as just had another play. The bolt by the exhaust had so much crap built up it was solid hence when putting in a bolt it wouldn't thread in. All cleaned out now and a new bolt has gone in. Around the other bolt the casing had moved which I presume is where there has been a vacated bolt ? Anyway 2 pair of hands and the case is realined and the bolts in ??
  5. As the pictures shows I have 2 broken off screws that go into the cylinder that will need to be tapped out. Been told by someone that knows far more than me that not to worry about it because it shouldn’t cause to many issues. Is that correct ? Also how much of a job would it be to get them tapped out ? My guess is a pig of a job but thought I’d ask
  6. Update: link expired here’s the new one https://arbjobs.com/job-listing/5688

  9. Fair enough that looks rough [emoji23]
  10. Ever looking for a tree surgeon go to the nearest Greggs in the morning. Day doesn’t start until you’ve had that £3.40 breakfast deal
  11. This couldn’t be more true. Everywhere in this industry people moan and compare wages with other trades and agreeing arb is a bit behind. But then on the other side you have threads like this saying your pricing yourself to high. Maybe it’s jealously that your able to get work at that price and thats more than what they charge ? I don’t know but if you can get work at that price I think fair play and it’s only going to do the industry a favour in the hope of driving up wages and hopefully reduce the amount of companies/ people under valuing themselves.
  12. I got 100 quid for cleaning bricks for 2 weeks. Must of done a good job [emoji23]
  13. What’s people’s experience and views on those 2-1 chainsaw file from stihl ? Heard good things
  14. I do this, always drop down from a 7/32 to a 3/16 when getting towards the end of the chain. Works a dream and get a lovely hook
  15. So I’ve had this rope 2 weeks and this morning it got stuck in my foot ascender and pulled out a strand. Just looking on advice on how to push it back in flush ? Done what I can by hand and just need to get the final bits in. Cheers
  16. I used those K H plastic wedges on my cs32. When I need extra height from my wedges I bang in one to open the curf then stack 2 wedges onto of each other and that normally does the trick
  17. Tripod ladders are the way forward, have 2 from Niwaki, a 10ft and 15ft. 10ft is the best nice and light so easy to move about and real stable. Adjustable leg aswell for bank work (as has the 15ft) 15ft is a bit heavier and harder to move around tight areas but you can get some unreal hight with it
  18. We have a number of blocks/ locks/ stages of security. Had a break in the other month and they got through the first door (heavily locked), alarm went off met with other lock ups so ran. Now put in more stages aswell. But in my eyes our security worked as nothing was taken. There will always be chancers
  19. We have a set of 4 and all have had problems with wires getting snagged etc. Every time we send them off to Sena and they sort it for us. Have a feeling they would do it at no cost but don’t hold me to that because it goes through my boss. I do recall him applauding the customer service and talking about no cost.
  20. Whenever I get weekend work for myself I’m able to hire kit from my boss. The rule is though “nothing to large” in the sense of job size. This works for me because I like to keep personally jobs smallish for the time being as having to hire kit of my boss. So the odd small- medium dismantle and reduction works perfect. Anything substantial goes through my boss and his company and he’ll sort us out.
  21. Looks like chicken off the wood to me, brackets fade in colour as they get older I believe
  22. Really interesting that I’ll be doing that tomorrow on my 201
  23. My Work got broke into last night, boss lives on site though and rushed up the drive to the yard upon hearing the alarms with a walking stick when in hindsight it was probably a silly thing to do because it’s more than likely there would of been more than 2 of them and if they were game and have some sort of weapon it could be good night for him. I think you have to put as much in place as you can to stop thieves. We have at my work numerous alarms and lock ups all under one roof so would be incredible hard to actually steal anything which was the case last night, they got in and the alarm went off but all off our kit was still blocked off by other protocols we have put in place. So I guess you could say it worked. Anyway isn’t this the exact reason we have insurance ? Be surprised if it says anything on the Insurance policy of the insurance being void if you don’t approach the thieves and have it out [emoji23] Not worth putting yourself in danger I think
  24. Just a little heads up got broken into last night. Nothing was taken our security worked as it should of done and scared them off. Still worth letting everyone know. Location North Dorset
