  1. Yeah I will updated the post, recently blown both the systems out so should run fine for a bit and I'll get hold of some other chain oil and see if that makes any difference. Thanks for the advice
  2. Yeah I blow out the oil filter as well that belongs in the tank. Yeah I'll give that a go hopefully be alright, have you ever heard of certain chain oils not running with certain saws ?
  3. Hi Basically company I work for brought 2 brand new 201t back in September time last year and ever since they have both had trouble with chain oil getting to the bar. I have numerous times I have had to take the cutch off both of them and give them a good clean with an air gun blowing out all the oil mechanism and it'll oil fine for about 4 tankfuls of fuel then it'll start repeating the process and not oil. We use super sexy chainsaw oil and I have opened the oiling screw to the max setting and I don't know what else it could be? Was wondering whether it's the actual chain oil we are using being to thick or something but ruled that out because surely it would heat up and go more "runny". Any help would be greatly appreciated!

    Sharpening

Hey, Any advice on sharpening with out a vice? With a vice there's no dramas but I'd like to improve my sharpening without a vice for times on site when a saw needs sharpening. I'm not to bad without a vice but there's definitely room for improvement and I know you can get log vices, but some days you don't have an logs to use (like to today on a light reduction job) TIA Tom
  5. Because when I pull the started cord it still acts as if something is stopping the piston. Won't be able to look at it until Monday but any advice is appreciated
  6. Okay sweet I'll take the exhaust off a hopefully blow it out with an airline
  7. Finishing the week with some maintance, was changing over chain oil pipes and obviously put some string in to the cylinder to block it off and when going to take the string out it snapped and half off it remains in the cylinder (don't you love Fridays) Is there any quick fixes ? I've tried hook it out but having no luck. Or shall I just take it in to my local garden machinery dealer ship ? Cheers
  8. My thoughts exactly, going of my book with the leaf shape it kind of matched an Italian Crab or Siebolds Crab but can't seem to find much about them online
  9. Was sent these pictures tonight asking for an ID. I'm not sure so resulted into looking it up and I think I've narrowed it down to some type of flowering crab ? Any help will be greatly appreciated and will let me sleep tonight
  10. Yeah, use a cambium saver everytime I climb
  11. Basically I'm currently running a Yale Blue Tongue as my climbing line with a zig zag and my line has seem to just taken a beaten. Seems to be very prone to fraying, and I'm not being a twa* in the tree and not taking any care. Would just like to know other people's experiences with their climbing my lines with how robust they are and whether there's ropes out there that are worth me replacing my blue tongue with. Thanks
  12. Basically would like to know other people's preferences on how to deal with frays on their climbing line... I've had my Yale blue tongue for a few months now and I've just christened it with its first fray (suspected barbwire) and I'd like to know how people go about frays, whether burn them down a bit or leave them or take them or what ever. Any advice is great, thanks.
  13. Update: Just brought a Zigzag with the Yale blue tongue. Had a little play yesterday and my first impressions are really good, love so smooth it feels and I'm happy at the moment I've chosen it over the hitch. Thanks for all you're opioins.
  14. Just set up some sort of table/check list then at the end of every week just tick off each bit of kit (identified by their serial number) if it's still okay etc etc. Really when working you'll most of the time notice if a bit of kit has something up with it but it's always good to go over your kit once a week and keep track
  15. Sorbus International do one aswell.... Introduction to SRT Workshop
  16. seems to be 50/50. I do like the hitch climber and I'm kind of use to how it works, but i like how the zigzag seems to be less of a faff but it comes with the cracks. Thanks though think I'll pop to sorbus and check out the zigzag
  17. Basically wanting to leave the trusty old prussik in the past and get a more up to date rig. Ive used a hitch climber a number of times and i do really like it but theres something about the ZigZag that appeals to me but have never had the chance to try one out. Just would like peoples personally Opinions on the two about the pros and cons and what ropes work best etc etc Thanks!
  18. I sometimes get this, it's not that I'm scared I think it's just the adrenaline flowing through when your doing something that could be seen dangerous. Always good to feel alive I say
  19. Absolute beast machine, hardly never jams and eat a good 7" length
  20. long shot but do you know how long the seasonal sale on the harnesses will last ?
  21. Ah wasn't aware of it not being the normal tree motion buckle, presumed it was the same. Thanks!
  22. Hi all Apologise if this has been posted before but I'm looking into getting a new harness and I've seen that FR Jones has a tree motion superlight harness in their seasonal sale and I'm just wondering how it fairs against the normal tree motion. I have used a tree motion before but never the superlight so just interested to see people's reviews and whether it's better or worse etc. Thanks in advance
  23. anyone now where i can get a new petzl chin strap buckle (if thats what you call it) as mine snapped today which is a real pain. Can't seem to find one sold seperately anywhere, so any ideas or happy will be really appricated
