  1. What's odd is that it says "one life, live it" with the Christian fish thing, surely there's an afterlife if you're a God botherer?
  2. Great shout, here's the engine shot from t'internet.
  3. That has been the thrust of my search, "old Honda twin" the tyres would have rotted out if it had been in there more than 15 years though.
  4. Don't think I'm not looking Bob, using the cylinder heads as an identifying tool, no luck as yet.
  5. It's already been "pollarded" ie. Cut to a totem pole. At the very least that must be done again. In the medium term I can't see that tree having a future as anything but firewood.
  6. Seen that one before, very good though, great filming.
  7. I've done similar to JB oftimes, what do we think is the terminology for the technique of lowering a whole tree off another tree like that?
  8. I know it looks like a callus, but could it be a ring of sap that has solidified?
  9. Was a shame John, spectacular tree.
  10. It gets taken away in 2.5 mtr lengths, for pallet production I think. I was just happy to get rid, didn't get paid for the butts.
  11. Just the way it is I guess. There are other standards. The standing on the stump shot. You can also go for the "standing with arm round the fallen beast" shot. Ill try and think of some others....
  12. It's a "kind of man conquering nature" thing.
  13. Particularly fine run of pics recently. Well done lads. My poplargeddon job finally came to an end. Had to get these trunks up a hill to the car parking area for removal by a timber lorry. The turf tyres on the Kubota would not get a purchase, so we had to winch these sections halfway, then drive up the top to get them the rest of the way. The winch moaned and squealed a bit but we did it. Drove home with the cheque.
  14. iPads/tablets are great aren't they? I borrowed my brother in laws when I was in hospital for 10 days in 2012. I'm addicted to mine.
  15. I've had jobs in previous lives where there's nothing to do all day. The time drags for sure.
  16. Never done it tbh. I did do a little railwork. Up and down steep banks miles from anywhere, finishing a job before the shutdown was over. Gruesome!
  17. I couldn't give a monkey's. Can't understand why peoples panties are in a bunch. At least he's up front about it. I've often wondered about the compensations of what must be the hardest, least rewarding job in arb.
  18. I also like it, is there no room for creativity in this business?
  19. I skipped straight to 14 minutes. Very good, massive tree. Professional outfit. Mind you, I'd have it on the floor, rasher it down in the back of the transit, be home in time for Neighbours (lunchtime edition)
  20. Can't see it here Darin. Tell a lie, I can watch it on Vimeo (whatever that is)
  21. Huh? It's because older cars need MOTing whereas newer ones don't. It's a bit of a leap of logic to see it as a slap in the face for the poor!
  22. It seems to have feck all to do with his self professed (and almost certainly bogus) religious belief.
