  1. Too much moaning about employees/being an employer. Employees are an asset, not an overhead, try doing it on your own. People (me included) often say to people moaning about their wages to get out of the game or get better. Same goes for bosses.
  2. Prices bottom out, something like a chipper will depreciate until it reaches a point where it won't go down any more as long as it's half decent.
  3. Ok right. Chin up, always darkest before the dawn and all that.
  4. Ps, what doesn't hold its value like a 150?
  5. To an extent of course, a lot depends on what you regard as long lasting. Plenty of 10 years plus tw150s still fetching very good money.
  6. Out of idle curiosity, what was the upshot of this?
  7. Nice vid. Clever trick overlaying the picture of the tree as it was at the end.
  8. Price by the job. (And get a bigger grinder!)
  9. Agreed, no point treating them with kid gloves, they're there to chip wood. Keep the blades sharp, belts tight, bearings greased. If it fits in, it goes on.
  10. Your point was there was no pattern? That sick days were spread evenly through the working week?
  11. Yes, in my experience they love it. Just makes them angry. Done a few in my time.
  12. I never really gave a monkey's self abuse about the back story. You wanted prices, by and large most people have given you the same price. Ie. Just shy of a ton. So there you go.
  13. I hate favours, it's either for nothing (genuinely) or money.
  14. It's just them trying to take me for a ride, my current website is hosted in the U.K. And according to the technician (my brother in law) it can continue to be hosted there. I've already discounted the company and have made enquiries elsewhere. Its something to think about though, once a payment is on DD you tend to forget about it.
  15. That's a tough hand life just dealt you there Old Woodchip. Good luck in your recovery.
  16. No I didn't take pictures, would have been a bit creepy!
  17. You'd think so, but it doesn't:001_smile: Thanks for the info, I'm rethinking it.
  18. Well there you go then. That company are out of the equation. Despite her dreamy green eyes and firm young body.
  19. Not really, she tried to give me stuff about anti virus but in reality it's just bog standard hosting. I think it's a cash cow so they go high and hope for the best,
  20. 60 quid if I was working nearby. Maybe 80 if I had to go and quote it.
  21. I've decided to update my website and had a salesperson round to pitch their services. Anyway, after the usual spiel, she quoted the sort of price I was expecting €2000 for 6 pages etc. Some might think that pricey but that's not my issue. My current website costs £20 per quarter to host. The new (french) company said it was €45 per month from them. I said that was far too much and sent her away to talk to her boss. What sort of prices do you guys pay?
  22. Ok, chose a better world than underwhelmed. (I was quite pleased with it if I'm honest)
