  1. https://www.civilwar.org/learn/primary-sources/declaration-causes-seceding-states You understand it wrong. Read the above link which shows the reasons the individual states wanted to secede. Slavery is the first thing mentioned in most of them. (thanks to Kevin Bingham)
  2. Yes, I'm looking forward to seeing what they'll all about.
  3. Paul, it's only a small step from that, to this...
  4. "The farm takes up most of the day, and I like a cup of tea in the evening...."
  5. Huck, you actually believe there are "sensible" answers in this thread?
  6. As a kind of breathing space thing, here's The Band performing The Night They Drove Ol Dixey Down. Which is a great song and kind of apposite.
  7. Decent result for him nevertheless. As long as she didn't sing!
  8. Good news music fans! Louise Redknapp has "rekindled" her love for music and is in the recording studio. http://www.dailymail.co.uk/tvshowbiz/article-4788388/Louise-Redknapp-planning-comeback-pop-music.html
  9. The saying is "what's sauce for the goose is sauce for...."
  10. A pet peeve of mine is when clients call you in and walk you around pointing at individual trees and say "what about that one? What do you think we should do to that?" So you run through a series of options ranging from doing nothing to taking it out all depending on what the client wants. Next tree "what do you think about that one?"
  11. You said Monday you were leaving the country so open to offers, now there's no rush. Anyway, if you put it on Arbtrader you wouldn't get the comments.
  12. Think about it. In the meantime, state of this..http://www.dailymail.co.uk/femail/article-4786350/Britain-s-gender-fluid-family.html.
  13. My new sharpening aid, 15 odd quid from amazon.
  14. Man not brave enough to put his name to his opinions calls others cowards.
  15. I use the blue Swedish strop with rope grab. I like it compared to the thinner wire cores because of it's thickness it is easier to hold.
  16. Sounds like a nightmare, are you sure you can't get a tracked cherry picker in? I simply wouldn't do it with those silly shears.
  17. I think there was an element of that Dave.
  18. Well it's sorted then, we'd all be better off without clients!
  19. I prefer to annoy you lot moaning about it!
  20. I was annoyed Gary, but what would be the point in kicking up? Smile and wave is all you can do. I deliberately choose the domestic end of the market for a number of reasons. It has its drawbacks.
  21. Nice idea Felix. Other things that does my nut in are clients who want a multiple tree quote where they want a breakdown of what each tree will cost. Tell me what you want done, I'll give you a price, it's not pick'n'mix.
  22. It sort of slipped out, as soon as she said it she (and her daughter) realised they'd made an error. Anyway, the rest of the clients this afternoon were legit (if a bit annoying)

About

If you would like to contribute to making this industry more effective and safe then welcome.
Just like a living tree, it'll always be a work in progress.
Please have a look around, sign up, share and contribute the best you have.
