Magnolias are resistant to pruning, only the flowers can be susceptible. Prune away... (But yeah, some photos would help)

I was ringing down a slight leaner and it opened from the top to the bottom, nearly broke my ribs. Although in a bizarre twist it led me here in 2010. I didn't know whether I could burn it on the fire, so I googled it, found this place.
