  1. Only having a laugh! Yours looks good, just the turning on lawns, and the speed put me off. Anything is 100x better than handballing. And yes, getting a grinder and a loader on the same trailer is a real winner.
  2. If someone can explain to me the advantages of a skidsteer over a wheeled loader in domestic arb, then, that'd be great.
  3. Heal quick Darrin, I've had a few.
  4. Or keep focused on your hand in the job!
  5. Speaking of Fox Terriers, Igor enjoys mealtimes. IMG_1575.MOV
  6. Search function is a bit weird, put in Arb memes and it could not find it, yet it's the name of the thread. All in all though the new site is great, especially the like function, picture loading better as well.
  7. Many years ago I was on this forum and I read something that I put into practice a lot. Skyhuck (of this parish) wrote that when he goes to a job he doesn't think so much of his costs but how much the guy with the transit and six inch chipper will charge to do it. So lets say a couple of big take downs, remove everything, three days £650 a day throw in a bit for fuel etc £2000 or thereabouts. So he turns up with an approximate day rate of £1300 but knowing what the competition will charge he goes in at £1800, secures the work, knocks it off in a day with the mog etc. Magic! So the moral of this story is you SHOULD worry about what others are charging, you may well be doing yourself out of money, but don't change tack based on one lost job.
  8. But yeah, 200 squid is mad cheap. (No Robocop meltdowns this morning)
  9. As they say, depends. Multi stem jobby over 3 gardens maybe, twinstemmed sort no targets, bloke round the corner to buy the wood, out by 10.30 tea break.....
  10. Don't let me sway you from getting hydraulic help! Just be realistic about some of the attachements.
  11. Natch, I just thought yet another thread where everyone goes on about how people that are cheaper than them are useless, do as you likeys, or going bankrupt next week would be improved by some Robocop. "I think you better do as it says Mr Kenny"
  12. Ps. Where's the Robocop remake now? Disappeared into nowhere, that's where! The original and best.
  13. Don't worry about it, can't win them all. I've just spent the entire day driving round the countryside, pricing 7 jobs. Unpaid Saturday with my truck (unless they accept the quote of course) "Thats life in the big city"
  14. Balls. Of. Steel. Good luck Stef!
  15. Wow, quite a machine. 7250kg how are you going to move it about?
  16. I think they've just followed the way the trees have "broken free" from the standard hedge shape.
  17. I've never had one, but the word is the grinder attachement is crap.
  18. Tyre pressures and tracking.
  19. As I recall (I was 23 at the time) the transport frustration was negligible (though the delays were real and prolonged) Such was the devastation that people just accepted and got on with it, there was little or no moaning just awe then getting on with it.
