  1. The 230 is a great chipper, if I had to go sub 750, I'd look no further.
  2. Best not break them at that price! I suppose that you have to accept they're not forestry tractors and try not to damage the panels (dropped a log on the front panel today, chipped off a piece off)
  3. I guess it depends on how expensive they are to replace/repair.
  4. See some of the older merc trucks here, that's a single wheel at the back jobby. 3.5 tonne I reckon, bit dated though.
  5. According to the spec sheet 1280kg, so minus the attachment around a tonne.
  6. Grapple is finally here! Looking forward to putting it to work in the next few days.
  7. Are you being serious?
  8. So that's a "sorry I'm not sorry" sort of apology. Not that I care of course, just saying
  9. There is no issue, it's a free market economy, if the contractor wants a decent climber he'll have to pay the going rate. if he won't, it won't get done, but it always does.
  10. If the climbing jobs can't be filled it's because most accomplished climbers soon realise that the only way to make any money on the tools in this job is to get the work yourself, so they set out on their own.
  11. I got to about a minute, he's selling saws and letting guys have a go. At one point he actually tells a guy to put two hands on it. whats your issue?
  12. Fine looking dog, has he been done? I have a feeling some chasse members might like some of that bloodline.
  13. Perhaps, just to get the number/check they exist. Difficult to quantify. A bit like sign written vans, I doubt many people actually write down the numbers there and then, but probably google the name they've seen around town for a while on the side of vans when they need work done.
  14. What is interesting (to me at least) is how little a role the internet seems to play in many people's answers. A few years ago one would have been forgiven for thinking that that's all there would be by now.
  15. I had that client watching thing yesterday, even when we sat and had lunch conversing in English.
  16. Love this thread, keep them coming!
  17. I never met anyone who doesn't think they deserve more money.
  18. https://www.donegalnow.com/sport/greencastle-players-ashamed-actions/185835 No one was killed, although obviously the incident with the goat shouldn't have happened.
  19. It's a semi interesting poll, but I fear there are factors at play that skew it a bit. 1. When people say they never advertise any more, how do we know if they're charging good rates or just being busy for the sake of it. 2. If you're fencing or dabbling in landscaping/grass cutting you only need one "yes" and you have potentially a few weeks work, in domestic Arb you often have to find 5 jobs a week. Not an attack on anyone in particular, just thoughts on the poll. FWIW, local press/word of mouth mostly.
  20. Technically yes, but many many miles south. Nuthurst is south east of Horsham.
  21. Someone did do that on here I think. He wanted a few inches off to get into his garage. Just cut the vertical section by whatever you desire and weld up. I imagine getting a smooth finish inside is the key.
  22. If you want to be held in high esteem by the public, become a nurse or a fireman, I've never understood this need for respect or appreciation by the man on the Clapham omnibus. Dont work for the LAs If you're not getting enough money, change what you do, or who you do it for, get tooled up, mechanise. There's still good money in this, it's harder to get than 30 years ago, for sure.
  23. Does anyone know a "wearer" and did you give them stick?
