  1. IMO no, as long as you’re not carrying too much weight.
  2. Yes I did, poor of me, called tautology, not meaning to be condescending of course (which means acting superior) Anyway I shouldn’t have said that so, apologies. I get the hump when my posts are altered, no excuse though.
  3. Overloading with holly/leylandii would be a neat trick.
  4. Thanks for posting, but 9 minutes? Got to 2 minutes then gave up.
  5. I bought a 066 in ‘00 for a £100 sold it this year for £350. I still think I made a mistake.
  6. Client “gave” me one of those. No great shakes, we all dream of finding an 090 in a shed.
  7. I suspect a lot of it has to do with the aging population.
  8. Crikey, no one is spared by KJMBE’s eye of Sauron
  9. I was referring to the last 20 years. And yes, I lived in the south east.
  10. The only thing that has really gone up is house prices, that’s the big difference. Rates are similar to 20odd years ago, the actual cost of living (food etc) isn’t that much higher. Houses have nearly tripled in value. I don’t really go for all this ‘back in my day we weren’t entitled greedy sods’ narrative.
  11. http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-4998370/The-FA-probe-coach-Lee-Kendall-Eniola-Aluko-claims.html The problem here is that the dynamics of men’s teams and women’s teams is very different. Having played amateur football for many years I can tell you that very little is off limits as far as abuse, mickey taking, general banter, coaches will do anything to get the rise out of you. I feel sorry for this Lee Kendall, looks like his career and reputation is blighted by transgressing the PC rules.
  12. I had a recent employee who was on the phone A LOT. After numerous gentle hints I lost it a bit and had a go, he snapped back Some of us do have a life outside of work you know! That is a true story.
  13. You’re a good age to start this sort of thing, and 4 weeks is not too long.
  14. Once again your use of metaphors is as off target as your predictions. Pandora was never in the box. She opened it. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pandora
  15. As an counterpoint to Steve’s “Best Ever Worker” type thread I’d like to hear your unbelievably bad stories. Mine was a guy who said half way through the morning that he needed to crap, so I sent him over the road to a wood. He took his bag which I presume contained toilet paper. An hour later he emerged from the woods clearly gouging out after smoking (or injecting) heroin, for which he had a penchant. I couldn’t help liking him though.
  16. Who didn't? Was your misery their fault? Of course not. Do osprey nest in leylandii hedging? No, of course not, but if you planted a hawthorne hedge between two urban gardens would they nest there either? Presumably the money you recieved for your work was some compensation.
  17. Sometimes I wonder about you and your years in the game. If you've topped/retopped/lowered leylandii hedges you will have found all sorts of old nests. The dirty nasty bastards thing is just silly.
  18. Nonsense, it's a good screen in a world where we have to live closer and closer to each other. Good wildlife refuge (see earlier post) and a good earner for many tree surgeons.
  19. Leylandii are great for nesting birds, provide safe space from corvids etc. Theyre also fast growing hedging (obvs) and pay a lot of mortgages.
  20. NA do use a bit of hyperbole in their advertorials. Doesn't bother me at all. Some seem irritated by it.
