  1. Filthy Socks pops in often, I suppose he’s just getting on with stuff. He couldn’t document his life ad infinitum.
  2. Depends on your definition of evil I guess, but they get up to some pretty twisted stuff, murder, gang rape, infanticide, the lot.
  3. This was an interesting re-read, lots of old names. It’s also interesting how (IMO) there’s very little serious arguing about trade issues these days (compared to olden times when we seemed to get a bit more heated about relatively innocuous stuff) compared to certain current affairs threads. (comic relief excepted)
  4. I don’t think anyone or anything is to blame, people come people go. There have, however, been some changes that I think mirror society, polemicists are more numerous and more vocal. (in answer to Joe)
  5. Ed is a member of an American forum off which I’m a member, he’s an infrequent poster these days, but professionally and personally he’s going great guns.
  6. With some you can see it coming, they drift off, life takes over, not much else to add or learn from the forum. Stef was in in full flow.
  7. https://arbtalk.co.uk/profile/43310-stefan-palokangas/ I know there’s always a turnover of people on here, but I don’t recall anyone disappearing as suddenly and inexplicably as Stephan. One minute he’s all over the forum then pouf! He’s gone, not even logged on for a month. Odd. I’ll @Stefan Palokangas See what it’s all about..
  8. Not unusual to have little periods of respite where bulbs and other indicators of spring show, means little.
  9. It’s not all tea and crumpets, you have to share the day with one of the most miserable, negative, moaning gits in all Christendom.
  10. I don’t understand this post at all. 1: The homeowner WAS lucky it only damaged his lawn and hedge. 2: Why would he have read the national tree safety group publications? And if he had what would be especially pertinent to this case?
  11. Up at 6.15, walk dog, come back, boiled egg, then watch the news, go to the toilet, drink Tea. Load the trucks and leave at eight, get to job, drink some tea before starting. 10.30 tea break (I will normally come down from the tree for that) 12.30 ish, short lunch break with tea. During the afternoon regular stops depending on fatigue or tip runs. Always aim to finish before 4.
  12. Heretic! I reckon a judicious topping would have sorted that one out. Anyway, stuff happens, no one killed, all good
  13. Not read a word of this, but would like to change the title to ‘free will or lack thereof’ Couldn’t stop myself.
  14. What I love about these threads is the difference in perspective. As someone else pointed out, it’s a bit like when someone asks ’what vehicle should I get?’ And the advice can vary from a bicycle and a bowsaw to a 15 tonne grab lorry.
  15. Surely the quadtrak is better for that, turntable and all.
  16. Don’t you have collection points? Garages or similar that act as dépôts for parcels. Open during business hours, track your parcel on t’internet, go and collect when convenient.
  17. Twice KH has jumped the gun about road traffic accidents, gleefully claiming they were terrorist attacks, much to her embarrassment. She tweets constantly about Muslims killing people etc. When the Las Vegas shooting happened she said nothing, why? Because she doesn’t want to alienate the US, where she gets some media work, and sees her future as a ’commentator’ So, no I dont see her as a fearless speaker of the truth, an unpleasant opportunist more likely. Of course she’s not always wrong, but even a stopped clock is right twice a day.
  18. No experience of Bearcat, or of a gravity feed, rollers (even just one) would be my preference, but 20hp seems adequate.
  19. To the OP. Sounds like you’ve already got a lot of the practical skills needed. And yes, a chipper is the key to making money.
