  1. Dunno really, die of boredom I expect. Maybe do some gardening for beer money, after retirement.
  2. Charming! I thought she was the one with the money?
  3. I have had a worryingly serious lull, thankfully a decent day today of accepted quotes has relieved the pressure a bit. Everyone’s situation is different of course, but if you’re too far ahead you may not be charging enough.
  4. I can’t see any flail on that machine doing anything but stroking the brush. Your money of course.
  5. Need to get a closeup of the wee beasty to be sure. https://www.afbini.gov.uk/news/defoliation-ash-trees-ni-afbi-scientists-solve-problem The migration down the trunk described in this article steered me towards the sawfly. I’m only googling about though, be nice to find out for sure.
  6. I don’t think it needs to be certified, just conform to the regs.
  7. One comment on that DM article says Sawfly Larvae, he might well be right.
  8. https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-2655443/The-hungry-caterpillars-Amazing-pictures-millions-tiny-green-insects-swarming-single-ash-tree.html Have a look at this..
  9. Just put a sticker on the hopper saying “machine feed only”
  10. Pretty certain that is the company who supplied my mini loader in kit form. That was a complete disaster, but they seem to have grown and improved. I would certainly go for the most powerful option, turning the tracks around is the hardest work the hydraulic motors will do. Speed across the ground is vital, if it’s slower than walking pace you’ll be very disappointed.
  11. Put up a picture, give us something to look at. Anyway, these folks are the very helpful http://overland-es.com/ In addition you could join the FB owners club (as I did) and ask the question there. You may have to get the post translated into German though!
  12. There are a couple of very large outfits in the locale making pallets in the 10s of thousands, they use poplar.
  13. Apologies for fouling up the thread true believers, I didn’t know where else to post it.
  14. Spotted this one on the way to work, doing what LRs do best!
  15. I have never owned a Silky. At first I thought using them was were a sign of being a bit ‘light on your feet’ erroneously of course. Then I used the rationale that as I do mostly TDs I don’t need one. Lastly, I see the endless photos of cut flesh and think at this stage of my working life it’s not the time to start using them, so I resist. But I do have a classic topper scar on my inside left forearm, before anyone gets the idea I know what I’m doing.
  16. But that’s nuts isn’t it? (The number of injuries through handsaws) Whilst there is all sorts of dogma and absolute rights and wrongs on the use of petrol toppers, there seems to be no absolutes on handsaw use, or is there? I never see anything about it on social media, just pictures of cut forearms. Battery saws seem to run down quicker, ergo less dangerous, happy to be corrected on that though.
  17. Chestnut is often used as posts, but barbed wire is strung between normally. Much, much cheaper of course.
  18. https://www.google.fr/search?q=twat&ie=UTF-8&oe=UTF-8&hl=en-fr&client=safari I can be one of those as well.
  19. Don’t see a lot of post and rail here, and SC grows like a weed. Seems odd now I think about it.
  20. Not the last time I looked, no.
  21. It will be a great buy, for me! Somewhere to store machinery. https://www.frenchestateagents.com/ Here’s the firm my wife works for ^^ Check out the prices in some of the less fashionable areas.
