Brass Eye, quite good, clever without being really funny. On the subject of comedy... I was listening to Richard Herring talking to Matt Lucas on a podcast recently. The subject was raised about how many characters in Little Britain were, in hindsight, not very acceptable. Matt Lucas accepted it, when you think about, Ting Tong, The only gay in the village, fat club, bad transvestites and others, it’s amazing that it was commissioned and broadcast so recently.

I reckon geared is better with that HP anyway. I run two chippers for similar reasons.

If you can get a tractor to it, surely you can pull your tow behind (GM150?) to wherever you need it.

Happens occasionally with mine, and now I know why. ‘Open vents when adding wood to a sleepy fire’ Will do.

My fox terrier finds them regularly in our garden, then the drama starts! I have to throw a coat over it, pick it up and put it over the fence, whilst the dog makes a passable impression of a breaching crocodile, leaping up and snapping at the bundle.

Isn’t he just? I have a little fish pond 30 yards from the workshop which is his base i guess. Amazing what wildlife a small body of water can attract.

I’m exaggerating a bit, if they want a tree dropped and walk, no problem. I guess I can usually smell the cheapskates, I also explain I have an ‘on the books’ employee, he can either sit in the truck on his phone, or he can chip the brash, either way they’re paying for him.

I get asked a lot, mostly by the French clients. They think they’ll save money. I tell them they’re paying for the (payments on the) chipper in the price whether they know it or not, might as well use it.

No here’s a point. When clients say leave the brash, if they mean leave it where it falls and we don’t touch it, then...maybe. But normally they don’t. So if they want it stacked somewhere, that’ll cost more than chipping because it involves more work (usually)

Found in my workshop this morning, Marbled Newt. The dog saw it first, but it did a play dead thing and he lost interest. 5 minutes later it had gone.

Many years ago...... My mate had a MK 2 cortina, we all used to go out in it and roll up and get stoned on Black Leb, which some may remember as a sticky form of cannabis. Later, when the munchies kicked in, off to the garage we’d go for hula hoops, fruit pastilles, big feast ice lollies, you get the idea. Well he didn’t make a habit of cleaning it out after the weekend, but used to tell us that he used to get stoned for free off the bits we used to drop when carelessly rolling the joints. Then he discovered the mice...

Different strokes and all that. It feels like pulling a breeze block around when I drag the 201 around these days. All about the echo 2511 for me these days.
