Yeah it’s handy, but don’t forget he gets that firewood, buckshee, a few miles from his yard. We both do ok, but we both think that the other one gets the better end of the deal. Which I suppose means that it’s fair!

It’s a rugby pitch in the background, can’t see it being an issue. Finished up the clearance job. This red oak had some sort of Ganoderma, outwardly fine, full crown etc. Internally soft as pulp at the base.

No, you can keep that, and the homemade pineau i get oftimes from the older sorts.

In all seriousness, autumns and springs are usually a little more clement than at home. (David is not far from me) We always watch the forecast for the UK as we watch British TV, it’s similar but better.

Agreed, I consider it like buying a job, paying for something to do. There are people who retire thinking they’ve done ok (purely because they’ve remained solvent and paid the mortgage) and have missed out on hundreds of thousands of pounds purely through naive pricing. I’m not excluding myself from that either, though I hope I’m getting better.

I always assumed that was the case 95% of the time, everything else is a made up story to cover that. -
I just watched the ‘ heaven knows..’ appearance on ToTP, absolutely brilliant. At the time I was baffled and annoyed.

And while I’m at it, your chain won’t tighten because you’ve burred the runners (the things that run in the groove of the guide bar) You have a choice, run it loose for a bit to rub off the burrs (whilst the bar is upright) or grind the burrs off by hand (pita)

Do trees get condemned? I only heard of that said by a shyster on Watchdog.

If you’re cutting a hedge like that, you’ll pop your chain often regularly, when a stem is cut through it’ll often drop onto the guide bar then dislodge the chain off the bar. Obvious really.

Easily towable in a trailer, which is key. The 7.3 is the same size, slightly less powerful but there’s not much in it for the money. There are plenty of decent other brands as well Schaeffer (sp) Giant, Cast.

All in all 50k, machine, attachements etc. I think for tree work they are brilliant, panels a bit fragile though (and expensive to replace)

Schliesing 485, 75 hp on a turntable. I had to buy something to cover the Forst which is a bit fragile.
