  1. I guess the moral is that I should buy my own timber lorry!
  2. Chip to a local sawmill who sells it along with bark and sawdust to someone for something (never really been sure what) Rubbish wood goes onto an enormous pile out in my field, where it’ll sit till it rots long after I’m dead. Good wood and mill-able sticks gets collected from site by a bloke with a timber lorry who never gives me as much as a bottle of wine for it.
  3. It’s a modern phenomenon I suppose. I speak to young people who find some kind of merit in this stuff, whoring their life out, building up a following, buying fake followers and likes, with the ultimate goal as a few quid or notoriety leading to fame. Most people would be embarrassed about posting these vids, but Sam here has a dream, and he believes it’s a noble one, and you’re a hater if you don’t think he’s great.
  4. No problems here atm, thank you for your concern.
  5. It’s ok, nice looking women, bit of music, bit of Saturday night entertainment I can at least watch with the wife. Went downhill when Brucey packed it in and they let that clothes-horse Tess host it.
  6. True, I hardly ever sharpen on the job these days, except in extremis. In a well lit workshop, saw in a vice, wearing my glasses is the only hope for me.
  7. Let’s all break into an impromptu singalong of Imagine by John Lennon shall we?
  8. Iran has been bubbling under for a week or two. Fire at a prison where political prisoners are kept tonight. Regime change seems imminent, or can they hang on? Key player in the region.
  9. They should have had a song from Charlie and The Chocolate Factory in movie week. missed a trick there. In fairness she is giving it a go, not pulling the sympathy card.
  10. There’s an element of that in the first few weeks certainly.
  11. Christ it’s such bollocks these days, so inclusive and pc. This fat bird using the death of her sister as a lever to garner sympathy is sickening.
  12. Not doing the wall or paving a lot of good either. Not sure what choice you have really.
  13. Christina Applegate was great in Anchorman 2 btw.
  14. Wow that’s so profound! My eyebrow is raised despite my best efforts.
  15. ”The level of scrutiny is not helpful” (yes I’m paraphrasing) I rather think it is, so do most people. After BJ the days of letting them get on with it and giving them the benefit of the doubt (especially this crop of Tories) are long gone.
  16. Sure let them do what they please without scrutiny or accountability from the press. That always works well.
  17. No he did a tv show about engines. Planes and Automobiles.
  18. When was this golden age of media impartiality?
  19. I think Mark Bolam said it, we all knew already. What was really interesting was the subtext in the thread.
  20. What specifically are you talking about?
  21. Well it was someone else then, I’ll try and find out.
  22. You’ve posted on this thread since page 1 Jules. Not sure why you now decide to give the definitive answer. I think the OP wanted it revoked because he thought it would adversely impact the price/sale of the property. Whole thing never made a lick of sense from the start.
  23. l will repeat something I posted before about media reporting. In an interview with Tommy Docherty after he got sacked by Man United he was asked if he felt the newspapers got him the the sack. His reply “Yes they did, the kept publishing the results”
  24. It’s just a bad period at the moment, these things are cyclical. We don’t know we’re having good times when we’re having them (2011 to 2020 for example) we just assume that it’s always going to be like that. This lot remind me of the end of the John Major administration, no talent, no vision, no hope. I’ve never voted Labour in my life, but I would now, this shambles cannot go on.
