Derry Watkins (who died in 2007 aged 71) probably carried this practice over from his time at Southern Tree Surgeons, Crawley/Horsham branch where he work for a long time before starting out on his own, probably around the mid 70s, so there’s likely a link

Good for her Mark. I am all for more women playing sport. What grinds my gears is the BBC and others ramming women’s football down our throats when most fans don’t really give a monkey’s toss about it at club or international level.

I stopped watching it a while back when Alex Scott started presenting it. Not surprised to see viewing figures have plummeted. Following tittle tattle on Twitter I had a look today. I don’t want to see women talking about men’s football, telling us how it is, when they don’t know how it is. The pressure of playing in the premier league etc. They never played in it! There was a female footballer on there today talking about Martin Odegard, how he has learnt about being an arsenal player, how would she know? I would have thought a business like that, it’ll show in the end of year accounts. 8k doesn’t just fall between the cracks. Morally I suppose it’s similar to you forgetting to invoice a client, would you expect them to tell you? -
