  1. Yes, you get the idea if he’d just said he’d got carried away in the moment etc. it’d all be over by now, but they (the Spanish FA) doubled down and said she was lying. That was the mistake. He’s toast.
  2. Great opportunity for someone.
  3. I really like the styling and colours.
  4. Saw a few on the VW forecourt out here, maybe not in UK yet, didn’t catch the price. Looks like an instant classic to me.
  5. Can’t see them going down in price. Seen the new models? Very smart!
  6. He’s an official advisor to the government and ex MP in the Ukrainian parliament, plus was the subject of a failed asassination by Russian agents. I would say his partiality is merited. I’ll take his informed opinion (whilst understanding where they come from) over someone sitting in their armchair in Scotland.
  7. When I first came to France in 2005 I worked almost exclusively for the ex-pats over here. 1 and 1/2 hours in a transit with a Timberwolf on the back was fairly normal, day in day out, used to price by photos, sometimes it was ridiculously easy, sometimes very hard. Good money though, lots of folding. Then in 2009 with the crash in the pound and the general financial crisis that work slowed to a trickle. So I made an effort to get more local French work, advertising in a local mag month after month. Now I’m a lot more local 30 minutes max for the most part, traffic here being very light compared to the UK means less stress on the journey. I still retain some of my far flung British clients though, but they’re in the minority. Diesel bills are a big factor of course.
  8. Missed that!
  9. And you can be pretty certain what the verdict would be if you asked them to inspect a tree.
  10. I posted this guys stuff before from Twitter. Very pro Ukraine for reference, but makes interesting points.
  11. Seems to me you threw that job away, very careless! If they wanted grinding YOU give them a quote, don’t get three others involved, giving the client the names and numbers of 3 other tree firms. They pinched it right under your nose, and you opened the door!
  12. Getting back to your first post, horticulture is not arboriculture, they often get lumped together. Mowing lawns, weeding beds, planting and spraying are low skill tasks, people pay you to do them because they don’t want to do them or haven’t the time to do it themselves, the equipment needed is cheap and often the clients have it themselves for you to use (I know, I’ve done it) Taking down or trimming trees is different, people pay you to do it because they CAN’T do it themselves, there is also risk (both to life and property) and the machinery is expensive and needs to be transported to site, and often large quantities of waste needs to be removed. The jobs are often one-offs (not once a week) so filling the diary is harder. So the money in trees is much higher. I’ve no interest in the National Trust thing, if you don’t like It, don’t do it.
  13. Well it is in the UK, if you don’t like the money get another job. Plenty about atm.
  14. Some on Twitter speculating just that. Sacrificing ten others to achieve that is a bit cold mind.
  15. Wow! It amazes me that he flew his personal plane near Moscow, he must have imagined he’d likely be a target.
  16. John is legit.
  17. Reminds me of the great Emo Phillips joke.
  18. Yes, untenable to work all day in that. Trying to slot in the easy/finish by lunchtime jobs, putting off the all-day ones. Sleeping at night is the hardest bit.
  19. Best bit of the match.
