  1. Easier if you tell us what he wants and we can tell him the terms.
  2. First of all by subcontractor I’m guessing you mean freelance so you can cut him loose at any point, no debate or reasons needed (and vice versa) Second and most importantly, is he any good?
  3. Get a good second hand 35hp diesel.
  4. I think it’s just that he recently learnt it (on here) and enjoys (over)using it.
  5. Who can be arsed with that? (Not me in case you were wondering)
  6. Saying now a 60 year old man has been arrested. Disgruntled farmer or something.
  7. Developments..
  8. Conspiracy theorists on Twitter loving it. One guy reckons they’re going to build houses or a railway or something. Presumably they’ll bulldoze Hadrians wall as well.
  9. Always a fine line to tread between being firm with clients and outright rude.
  10. The mix’n’match clients. You turn up, they show you a handful of trees with assorted work to be done, then they start saying ‘what if we have that and that done, but not that, how much will that be?’ This goes on and on with various combinations of trees and prices looking for the magic combination. You end up tying yourself in knots, head spinning, driving away just knowing you’ve done yourself out of money.
  11. He’s wiv the angles now..
  12. Well, it’s done now. I’ve got over it. Next outrage please.
  13. Wall is still in tact though, 2000 years old and solid as a solid thing!
  14. Madness, done by someone who knows their way round a saw as well by the look of it.
  15. Dead pop over a river, not quite breadstick strength yet, but caution required. 6e5e5ba1-8191-4bbc-b627-0498c22a2826.mov 124c908b-3581-4a45-8203-783f3a09845b.mp4
  16. Learn something every day!
  17. Derry Watkins (who died in 2007 aged 71) probably carried this practice over from his time at Southern Tree Surgeons, Crawley/Horsham branch where he work for a long time before starting out on his own, probably around the mid 70s, so there’s likely a link
  18. My old bosses modus operandi to the letter. We kept a tub of the ammonium sulfamate in the transit.
  19. I normally cover the stump with some plastic to prevent run off if it rains.
  20. …..
  21. Maybe just on special occasions?
  22. In terms of marketable product I agree
  23. Good for her Mark. I am all for more women playing sport. What grinds my gears is the BBC and others ramming women’s football down our throats when most fans don’t really give a monkey’s toss about it at club or international level.
  24. I stopped watching it a while back when Alex Scott started presenting it. Not surprised to see viewing figures have plummeted. Following tittle tattle on Twitter I had a look today. I don’t want to see women talking about men’s football, telling us how it is, when they don’t know how it is. The pressure of playing in the premier league etc. They never played in it! There was a female footballer on there today talking about Martin Odegard, how he has learnt about being an arsenal player, how would she know? The Lionesses were rubbish as well. https://x.com/BBCMOTD/status/1705547281426940001?s=20
  25. Sure, you were going to stay sober tonight but for my intervention!
