  1. Bang on (except for the spelling of aerial, but you knew that and tried to lure me in with it) Most young/learning climbers should have the harness on and buckling up the spikes before you’ve even finished the sentence ‘you could run up, strip and top that pine if you like….’
  2. Sitting in a car park on an island off of Iceland. I get about a bit and love the ends of the earth stuff.
  3. Love how they’re doing it on a quad bike and a selfie stick.
  4. It’s brilliant isn’t it? I spend far too much time flying round the world looking at places I’ll never visit but always wanted to. Latest excursion is to Pitcairn Island where the survivors of the mutiny on the bounty settled. In the middle of nowhere.
  5. As the experts have said, there is no logical explanation except that you have missed some important information.
  6. It’s Bury hill Stubs, but I forgive you. View from the top looking east is worth it though!
  7. Point : 1 Me too, looking at the springs and mentally working out how to get to the tip site using only back roads is a required skill for a diehard 3.5 tonner like me. Point : 2 Maybe, but in our favour, keep off the motorways, don’t tow the chipper behind the overloaded truck, don’t speed or do stupid stuff and you’ll be very unlucky to get a tug. Are you looking for better enforcement or more regulation?
  8. Yes, it’s good, original and memorable. Gritty and unpolished.
  9. I’m not even sure if I like it, I know little of the band, it was put up on an American forum so I watched it, I’ve watched it 5/6 times since. It’s hypnotic or mesmeric. Got something about it anyway.
  10. If I could, I’d post up the Sleaford Mods Mork and Mindy video. That pic looks like a still from it. Can anyone oblige?
  11. A voluntary trial scheme in a town in Finland, nothing of any significance. Anyway, at least it’s a thread where all the damaged minds can congregate. I will leave you all to it.
  12. I had a quick look through the links. What is it that is so controversial?
  13. We are always at the beginning of the end of our current way of life. The only constant is change. When did our current way of life begin, and what was before it?
  14. What did you learn today felling these trees in sub zero temps? Tell us, you be the source of info, you are the horse’s mouth.
  15. My old boss used to say on a cold day ‘you can always work yourself warm’ He did die of hypothermia lost in a field as a 82 year old wearing his pyjamas after wandering out of hospital in January, so I guess he should have picked up some wood and run about a bit. Live and learn.
  16. You cannot argue with that sort of laser sharp insight, bravo!😂
  17. As the old saying goes. Lock your dog and your wife in the boot of your car for two hours, when you open it see which one is happy to see you. (Don’t do this by the way, it’s just a saying)
  18. I see Trump is selling his own NFTs, when I saw the vid I thought it had to be a spoof or fake, but no, it’s real.
  19. Exceptional keeper, had a mistake in him, but 6 league titles, 3 FA cups, 1 European cup and 440 appearances tells its own story.
  20. No, not sure if he ever addressed me by name, although he knew it. Strange guy, had an air of silent menace. He’d come in late afternoon, insist on buying us a drink, no argument. No chat, no laughs, once asked me during the 98 World Cup if I’d seen who was in goal for Nigeria, I replied (in a South African accent) ‘some black fella’ which got a few laughs…..he didn’t laugh.
  21. I can honestly say, I didn’t like him or trust him (he lived next door to the pub and I did a little bit of tree work and stump work) but cross him or take him on? No way!
  22. I was down the Mucky Duck once (2000), bit pissed, and going on about the Hanse Cronje match fixing scandal. ’Typical bloody South African’ I said ‘corrupt as the day is long’ Who was I talking to? Honest to God it was Bruce Grobbelar! He is one scary dude by the way.
