  1. Useful qualification.
  2. Oh piss off! I take painkillers for hangovers, and manly work injuries.
  3. You can in France, for buttons. Or take two 200mg.
  4. Good to know!
  5. Does the the co-codamol bung you up? It does me, I can’t take it because of that.
  6. Glad you had a good day. But for the most part the comments were positive and offering good advice. But if it makes you happy to pretend otherwise, carry on.
  7. Lovely fella. Word of advice, if you cannot get an Alsatian back on recall immediately then keep him on a lead till you’ve trained him to come back. A dog like that shouldn’t be galloping about at liberty chasing other dogs or worse. It’s a recipe for disaster.
  8. Is that a Horse Chestnut? Isn’t species important in these decisions?
  9. Does ‘are you able to effectively communicate with others?’ mean ‘are you able to speak’?
  10. Oh bollocks to restaurants, job and knock is our motto My new groundy is super prepared every day, wet weather clothes, flask, sangers, painkillers, the lot. 18 years old, the kid’s a special talent.
  11. Haven’t been offered them in years, more’s the pity. Got some strong espresso and biscuits today, which is perfect, but, as you know, customs (and customers) are very different here
  12. This thread is in a slump, more effort needed.
  13. I don’t like massive amounts of food being dumped on us. I feel like I’m rude if I don’t eat it, and very often I’m not hungry on a hard day. Bacon sarnies? Yes ok, just let us know when we turn up so I don’t eat my own sandwiches unknowingly.
  14. Happy Birthday Pete! I’m only a few days behind you.
  15. Really? Not my experience at all. They take a good hammering, weak attachment points on the regrowth, but redone every 5 years or so avoids any issues.
  16. Ok, understood. You were a freelance climber (and without blowing smoke up your arse a very decent one judging by the vids) so once you lost the enjoyment and an opportunity to do something different came up you changed lanes, and it’s worked, so chapeau to you. I knew from the getgo I was going to do this job till my retirement one way or another. So being able to do my own climbing saves me a lot of money, and means I control my business on my terms.
  17. Try and separate yourself from the spoon whittlers that occasionally contact me looking for wood. Ucoulddoit has the right idea, get a truck and take a bit of currency with you.
  18. Poplar is planted and used extensively here, big pallet making mills and paper manufacturing plants. See lorry loads of it moving round the place. You would have no trouble moving it on over here.
  19. Seriously though 41? Absolutely the perfect age, experience and physical ability.
  20. Saturday afternoons I usually drive around pricing work. I don’t mind it, relaxed meetings with clients, a bit of flim-flam etc. Chance to look at things as I drive around. Heres a rather spectacular oak in the middle of the field, the river Vienne in the background. A habitually wet field I’m guessing so unusual to see a mature oak in these circumstances.
  21. Why? Are you made out of cheese or something? You’re in your prime.
  22. Zero degrees here. Just walked the dog, waiting for the wife to get up to make my Saturday breakfast of bacon sarnies. Then shopping, followed by pricing work this afternoon. Oooh the glamour!
