  1. Depends where you are and what your into. More woodwork related is bentley woodfair down in sussex and the same month is the european woodwork show in Essex.
  2. Thin ca glue would penetrate into the soft wood and harden it a little. If not some cactus juice would penetrate and stabilise it, it's what is used under pressure to make resin/wood turning blanks
  3. Scratch your name/number, etc into the plastics or engrave the metal with a small do grinder.
  4. Have a good one Jon. Have some cake and a drink for me.
  5. Just got the worst rain I have seen for a while and some thunder. Think an early nights in order.
  6. I currently have stihl hi flex which seem to be quite light and offer good protection. A lot of people swear by pfanner
  7. Ppe and knowledge are the key to safe use of a saw the 550xp is a great saw with a 15" bar. It will allow you to cut a whole lot of wood. They get up to speed quick and are nice and manoeuvrable.
  8. I'd put a layer of sand over the base to give it a little cushion under the grass. It's good stuff just don't buy the real cheap stuff, you can buy pegs to hold it down with Also if you have pets wash off the pee ASAP or it can leave marks.
  9. Any work in Kent this week or following weeks? Have 30/31 and mainly coppice experience, all own saw and ppe and happy to travel for work. 07795483802 Thanks,Will
  10. In that price range I'd spend a little more and get a 550, runs all day with a 15" bar and nice and light. I'm running a 13" bar right now just to make it a little more flick able.
  11. I emailed jones so will see what they say about it, I'm really interested to try it and see how it cuts.
  12. I have it a quick pass on each tooth as they looked a little rough and I'm also nursing man flu so was a little bored and the depth gauges were well off.
  13. I gave it a quick sharpen up just need to get in the woods with it now. So it's a bits a chain made with leftovers. Should have spent a little more and gone for a stihl chain
  14. Wearing hi flex stihl right now, in them anything from 3-6 days a week and there comfy. Feel thin on the bum and back but there holding up well. Also the pockets are useable and stay dust free
  15. There's a pair of lefts and opposite them is a pair of rights together. Looks really weird but guess I won't know until I try and cut with it.
  16. It's a 13" 56 dl chain. Just rummaged through 5 other chains I have and this is the only one.
  17. I have never seen it and weird that it's in two places on the chain surely?
  18. Just made a trip to fr jones and bought a few goodies, picked up a spare bar and chain and after fitting notified the chain has two pairs of teeth on the same side like in the photo. Anybody ever seen this? Only trouble is I have to wait for Monday to call them and sort it.
  19. What are those sizes relating to? 200 deep? By 110x25
  20. That's a deep hole. You may be better with a boring machine or chain mortiser for holes that deep in a fire door. What sort of size holes are they?
  21. The sorby chisels are great for the money. Framing wise you will mostly use a 1 1/2" and a 2" as those are he common sizes for mortises. A bruzz or corner chisel is handy aswell and you can get by without a slick. If your really going to town then some Barr chisels are the best.
  22. I found this the other day relating to glass and it's quite helpful http://m.sessile-oak.co.uk/Resources/Glazing
