  1. It would be for my own 15 cube a year, but just thinking out loud really. The idea being that with really very simple components and no electricity, it could maybe knock a few percentage points off the humidity before winter.
  2. At the risk of a slight derail. Has anyone got any thoughts on a wind turbine directly powering a fan inside a polytunnel for the purpose of drying logs?
  3. Curious rather than interested would be more accurate, as we both now that over here 2nd hand gear is waaaaay over priced and I'm sure a local would be happy to pay 95% of UK RRP.
  4. What sort of combinations give the best payload for under 3.5tonne combined? I've a kangoo and a 1.1tonne trailer.
  5. Knocked this up over a couple of days.... slate roof by father in law holds about 5 cube believe it or not.
  6. I think he's implying that there is Irony in the fact that those two paragraphs contradict one another
  7. It's also good for getting a top to land close to the stem.
  8. Any plans to put a 23hp on the cs100? @Jase hutch @Pete B would be a beast.
  9. Girth is the important factor dear boy!
  10. Size of logs here is far too large IMO
  11. Whats the likely outcome if someone were to blind themselves with chip or lose a finger? Genuine question
  12. Although I believe the R & D was English
  13. One thing that really helps too is having cast iron rads, stay hot for longer. Helps balance things out a bit.
  14. I suspect over burning....if my accumulator is full and I light a roaring fire in the boiler it will either: A. Try to dump the heat in the rads B. If not possible, it will mix in a load of cold water and send it down the drain and send me a message saying Ive been a very naughty boy
  15. We're spending a F*ck tonne of money upfront during the renovation, in order to have lower running costs thereafter. I'm hoping that the system will last for a lot of years to come, and win us a decent saving in the long term. Apparently oil boilers are to be banned within 10 years here....doesn't leave a lot of options....
  16. I'm in France so everything is 1.5x the cost. Your looking at the better part of 13k but here we get a tax credit. Its certainly not a DIY project for anyone but pro Plumbers. Its not costing me anything in monetary terms to run as the wood is free, but I've been told to count on a large barrow of logs per day in the winter. Ours is a stone house with not a lot of insulation. The installation includes a 1000l accumulator tank, 200 litres of domestic hot water and runs 9 rads.
  17. We've just had this fitted, in the utility room. Still learning all the modes and programs, much too smart for me. Its a normal sized 4 bed house, thankfully with a decent utility room. otherwise you really need an outbuilding.
  18. The timescale of the job is irrelevant unless you were paying by the hour.
  19. I can add 'thats what she said' to any sentence and make myself chortle
  20. I did these, not perfect but may serve?
