  1. Let’s all man up and look after each other and stop winding each other up with bullshit
  2. Children’s aren’t in danger from this virus please don’t try to over emotionalise this shitstorm
  3. I’ve done more this year than ever going to go at it hammer and tongs over the better weather and see how next year pans out. Fuel is likely to go up with th fall in the pound so locally people might light their fires more. Just a hunch no evidence to back it up but if it comes to the worst I can burn the bloody logs myself !
  4. My secretary’s husband lost his job today at a local car rental place, got a new one this afternoon in Aldi filling shelves. Moral : them that wants to work will always find it ! We need a bit of Dunkirk spirit !
  5. I was 18 and just learning how to drink !
  6. Did it cut better when you turned the chain round ?? I agree about the electric saw, in years to come they will become the norm.
  7. Went to the supermarket to get some food for tea. Looks like we’re having lightbulb and printer cartridge soup !
  8. A folding 4.10 my dad always said that was a poachers gun !!
  9. Aye like how many drinks is a good night ? Just one more !
  10. As Sir Winston Churchill said " keep calm and carry on". Along with " action this day", so could all the worried well get on with life and maybe take care of your elderly and vulnerable like good kind human beings, instead of panic buying bog roll and pasta.
  11. Yeah your right, the 365 is a beast cross cutting the big wind blown larch that i mostly do, can be a bit heavy snedding tho. I suppose there isnt such a thing as a perfect saw just the most appropriate for the job from the selection available to you. Once the 440 finally goes i was thinking of a 435to replace it but getting more and more tempted by battery as time goes on.
  12. Bought a 365 last year, which is a bit more oomph than I need, wish I had gone for a 550 mk2 as all the reviews on it are great. Not that the 365 isn’t .
  13. the old barter system will come back, how many litres of petrol for a cube of logs ?? or a bog roll ??
  14. The great escape, where eagles dare and the guns of Navarrone. I love old war movies.

    Oops!

I hate that job, all the black mouldy crap stuck in the folds of the seal is foul.

    Oops!

Crikey, are the drum and rubber seal on the door still intact ??

I would agree that you could just use it on a shorter bar as a very gutsy everyday saw and years out of it.
  18. Nothing moving yet in North Cumbria. The odd Daffy out but still cold and very wet.
  19. Looking at the picture of the site I'd say take the lot down, except the outers on the prevaling wind side. The re-plant with birch, rowan and willow and you can make them in to any shape you want and it'll enrich the biodiversity.
  20. Check if your phone has saved to the sim card as your photos will be recoverable from the sim even if it is wet and the actual phone is knackered.
  21. Looks like an accident waiting to happen with jammed logs under load etc. I'll stick to cross cutting with the chainsaw.
  22. I used the "find my" app on my ipad to find my phone recently, turned out to be in the bin at work !!
  23. Another vote for the Husky 365. great saw and if you want more oomph it can be modded to a 372 cheaply. PPE and a set of log tongs to save your back, you only get 1 and need to look after it, and get someone who knows how to teach you how to hand sharpen. I ruined quite a few chains till I was shown.
  24. Glad nobody was underneath it. I’ve had a couple of big larch come down but they will just go for firewood, you could mill some lovely timber out of that beech.
