1. Yeah, that's what I do but need to know the capacity in order to add some useful oil treatment.
  2. Hi, I'm trying to find the eng oil capacity as the owner's manual doesn't say, at least I couldn't find it. Anyone?
  3. Makes my day when they start to gather around the connie logs & good for you if you can do this with a cs. Ours was great but we soon outgrew it within months so horses for courses...whatever that means.
  4. I'm also a patriot & I thought 'mortified' was a bit strong. Could it be that the car/driver & passenger were American which rubbed some people the wrong way?
  5. Never had a problem with 8X4 ply sheets, painted with Unibond for waterproofing & for greenhouse roofs we cable tie two together. Tried (ex-school) gym mats but too heavy when wet...so dumped them.
  6.

Hi Will,

For future reference, where are you based & whats your set-up? We are a father (me) & 3 sons, family tree business near Maidstone. The youngest is Jordan with the alaskan mill. Regards Les

  7. Imo they should've got the max whether pleading g/ng, but the judges hands are tied. I don't get the whole concurrent thing, I mean...whats the point?
  8.

Hi. I saw you replied re the alaskan mill request. Just wondered if you went ahead with it as I'd be interested if not. Wouldn't want to step on anyones toes though.

Regards Les

We have an Alaskan doing nothing this week near Maidstone if he's still looking.

If so he could call Jordan Day 07713 029518.

  10. Nick, I admire your honestly, not sure I could be the same in your shoes but as others have said, with that attitude I reckon you'll be ok. Good luck to you.
  11. Anyone else watch the programme Wild, set in Alaska? Was amazed to see a Wood frog totally frozen, like solid. Come the end of winter & it only thaws & comes to life.
  12. Started serious but ended up watching the barefoot girl logsplitter. D'you thing she wears pants?
  13. Yes, I thought I was going mad not finding no2 as well.
  14.

Hi, I have a son, currently self emp, arborist/climber, with tow lic & 4x4 who is interested in the post re a new team. He lives near Maidstone so sort of between Dartford/Tun Wells. Have you a no he can speak on?

Regards Les Day

  15. Wish I'd bought the tracked 160 now as they've been occasions when the pulling power & self driving would've been useful, costs a fair bit more mind.
  16. No real issue but as it'll be lining the spout I reckon it'll affect the flow once dry stuff gets attached. May make a pull thru with diesel soaked rag.
  17. Performance wasn't affected...not that I noticed anyway.
  18. Anyone else find the innards of their chipper completely gummed up after putting mistletoe thru. While routinely cleaning & changing blades (Quadchip 160) it took me ages to dig the gunk from...everywhere.
  19. I feel for him, we had our truck tool bins searched by a lowlife a few nights back. Luckily they were unlocked & almost empty other than a camping stove which was found nearby. Was thinking of leaving our french mastiff inside for a few nights.

    courses

Bird, I guess you're talking about all of the CS courses? You don't have to do them all at once you know & I always thought it'd be best to practice what you've learn't in between anyway. How about an employer helping with the costs? is this a change of job or have you any practical arb experience?
  21. Good? I was disappointed not to be able to buy longer lasting tyres to fit, "Thats progress" I was told.
  22. 2 ltr Focus auto 18k miles on fronts, rears in excess of 25k & thats not being driven fast, although only softer/grippy are available in my tyre sizes.
  23. Agreed ATS. We probably over maintain whether wiping down the ram, greasing & visual checking every couple of weeks as its our livelihood/neck at risk. Must say we don't keep a record though.
  24. Just called SI (Statutory Inspections) at Loughborough & they confirmed the answer is that no official LOLER/HUWER etc inspections are needed, as R Mac said, the ram mechanism pushes not lifts. They weren't interested whether I was an employer/own truck etc. Thanks all.
