  1. How about a Stihl 193t? I know that it's not as light as the 2510 or the 150t, but it could still function as a fairly light saw for pruning and takedowns.
  2. Yes, 89cc is big enough. I'm using a 70cc saw with a 24" (3/8", 1.5mm) bar. That combo has split 40" logs.
  3. On some chainsaws it is possible to lubricate the bearing from the outside, with the clutch/sprocket still in place. Use chain oil.
  4. Will it handle a 12" , 0,50, 3/8 LP bar and chain or is that asking too much?
  5. I picked up a hiab crane the other day. Price: Free, condition: like new.
  6. I have bought knife blades from Brusletto that are similar to that blade. http://www.brusletto.no/index.php?sideID=424&ledd1=38
  7. +1 leaf springs . Has any of you tried making knives out of old silky blades?
  8. Yeah, both systems work great. Luckily my car came from the factory with air shocks . The rear end on it is always level even with the nose heavy chipper on the back Hijackers would be a great addition to a vehicle with regular shocks. Run the tubing up into the wheel wells or behind the rear bumper, and buy a 12v compressor that you can bring with you. That way you can inflate them while out in the field.
  9. 3M length and whats the width and height of the trailer/load?
  10. I have seen a system like that. It consisted of a lanyard with two ends and shock absorbers. V shaped with bungee shocks.
  11. Yes, a system with air shocks usually has a built in 12v compressor and a load sensing program that will maintain a set height. Another option is hijackers: Air shock absorbers that doesn't have a compressor and a load sensing program. The air pressure and ride height is manually adjusted.
  12. Jonsered 2172 and my old Husqvarna 242 xpg.
  13. I use a flat file and a belt grinder to sharpen mine.
  14. What does the markings on the bar say?
  15. All cherrypickers sold in the EU (CE marked) will have a built in ballvalve on the cylinders that will stop the hydraulic flow if a hose ruptures. The boom will not fall to the ground, but it is still a good idea to change the hydraulic hoses when they show signs of cracking or if the outer layer is gone.
  16. Ok, thanks. How does the 1/4" chains hold up?
  17. Hey Joe, is that a 1.1mm, 3/8P, 12" bar?
  18. I haven't tried one myself, but from what I have heard it sounds like a heavy and solidly built saw. Not the highest revving saw, but it has loads of torq. Manual oiler override is also a pluss.
  19. Kranman and Avesta offers steering drawbars and rolldrive (4wd) on small trailers.
  20. Efco 132s looks interesting, has any of you tried it?
  21. I was in search of a cheap chipper and ended up building my own. Lister hr2 engine and a 6" PTO chipper mounted on a 750 kg trailer chassi. It is a beast, it sends the chip flying 16 metres and it ended up costing me next to nothing.
