  1. Regularly see larch being sold as hardwood logs in shops near me lol
  2. To be fair you could put any politician on the picture
  3. To be fair I've found dry larch to cut very well but we have a 7 inch stenner band saw pick a blade with narrow tips slightly wider than you would for hardwoods and it cuts nice quite often find that some of the springiness relaxes out as well!
  4. Hey guys what's the cheapest decent mechanical chain sharpener available at the minute and what mechanical chain sharpener do people consider to be the best value currently please Tia
  5. Looks like a hand crank carriage to me the carriage is in the end and I'm guessing the winder that I initially thought was for setting the fence is in fact a hand crank for the carriage but could be wrong can't see any gear for a hydraulic drive system After looking at the pics again seems the handle is to set the fence so could be manually operated
  6. Assembly a week to a month? Perhaps if you're doing it a couple of hours a night! One day to put it in place one day to level obviously that's assuming the pit and concrete pillers are in place
  7. Probably because they don't really want to deal in anything less than full artic loads by choice
  8. To be fair I've never had any problems with my dogs but I generally do my best to avoid other people as round by me there seem to be more idiots with uncontrolled dogs than people who have a clue! Also there the type that pikeys liked to relieve people of even before dog napping got out of hand
  9. Most people seem to think it should always be the dog that gets done mine have always been working dogs so by the time you know if there suitable for puppies it's a bit late really!
  10. Most properly trained dogs are not a problem whether neutered or not it's just that most people either don't know how or don't want to spend the time to do it properly!
  11. Why the dog? If you don't want puppies get the bitch spayed
  12. I know it's carcinogenic as vapour and a sensetiser with prolonged contact so would suspect it's better not burned in the house or on a bonfire!
  13. I'm not certain if there is full range of spares or not there are definitely some but to be fair there isn't much on them that can't be remade by a half competent engineer!
  14. Thought multico was British till the owner moved to France and doing spares from France?
  15. Englebert Strauss do a good range of sizes don't know any more about them then other than there not cheap at £130 ish a pair
  16. Expect the saw to go cheap not many casuals will fancy the prospect of taking it through the roof I'd think
  17. Yes moretens built it logosol put there badge on then resold it then a few years ago woodmizer baught the company lol
  18. Mostly larch,Doug fir, wrc plus random bits of softwood! First up going to be running panel caps for fencing as we keep being let down and 1 at a time through a spindle moulder isn't great! Then hopefully moving on to t&g boards par and cladding profile's with some bigger sections for pagodas and suchlike! To be fair were hoping to build up some value added to run with our core fencing products!
  19. Hi were considered getting one of these small moulders and was wondering what people who own use one think? I know there is some content about these but was interested if people's opinions have changed about them with more time under there belts Tia
  20. Had the nose fail on 2 smallish sugi bars so got a Stihl one and it's been fine wasn't milling though
  21. I think mafell are supposed to be really good
  22. Hi is anyone felling or felled any softwood recently closer to the midlands the better
  23. I find it to be either great or crap no middle ground very springy if felled in spring or autumn cutting results depend on what your milling it with we used to have a forester horizontal with narrow bands spring set and it used to squash the Teath in real quick and gum up but wide bands with satellite tips it's not bad! The little hair thick splinters are God awfull though
