  1. If it's just the seals it shouldn't be too bad. A good plant fitter would replace them in a morning. All of the JCB telehandlers I've used are 4 speed.
  2. Nice post Mike, like your take on it. Sometimes we need to declare war on certain things in life. Especially the stuff that sucks the life out of us. Timon
  3. Used to use one when I drove them for a living. If it's for occasional use in the yard then providing it's in reasonable nick should be fine. The one I used had gear lever on the floor and separate mast and fork carriage levers as opposed to column change and joystick so it wasn't that nice to drive. If your not in it all day every day it should be fine for a yard machine. If you going to spend a fair bit of time in it try and find one with the modern controls as they are much quicker and easier. Hope this helps Timon
  4. If they are clean take them to your nearest timber merchant and ask him to run them through his circular saw. Offer of a small fee should suffice.
  5. Or DMM ultra O depending on what application you want them for.
  6. I have DMM shadow lock safe 3 way. Nice and compact. Timon
  7. Pete, We'll be there.. Might bring the mog and 220 pto down for you to see. It is the backbone of our business. We're only up the road in Alvechurch. Did you get the pics I sent to your email? Timon
  8. I've had a couple of pairs of hi flex.. Never again. I've had SIP freedoms. Excellent ground trousers, very hard wearing. Now on my second pair of SIP progress. I'm really hard on them and they cope really well. Comfy and durable in the tree.
  9. Thanks for this, I'll check the saw and get back to you via PM thanks
  10. In short... A bit of both. I think the piston and barrel are ok. We had a couple of scoring casualties on older saws so we've switched to motomix or aspen. Thinking of a muffler mod and a good service then. What area are you and would it be ok to send it to you?. (I'll confirm the piston is ok first) we're in Birmingham South .
  11. Nice one Steve.... A very worthwhile venture..
  12. Hi Spud, We've got a Stihl 441 that is very lacklustre. Is this something you could work on? It's about 5 years old. Thanks

    pantin

Used my pantin for the first time in in ages on Saturday. Managed to kick up about 40 feet without it popping out. The last time I used it I was on 13mm rope, this time I was on 11.7mm and it seemed to tend better than the thicker rope. If I can get the technique right consistently, I would say it's an advantage.

Thanks Cov.... I'll take a look at that. Timon
  15. Thanks Steve for a great forum etc.. I agree with Jon . It's the coolest place on the net. It's taught me there's much more to ARB than the cutting of trees. Learnt a great deal from this forum. Wether it's help and advice on climbing. Kit, legislation or real life issues. Great banter and heated debates on every subject under the sun. Love it. Timon

Nice one.. We're doing ours in a couple of weeks.. Can you tell me what the course actually covers and what we will need to know. Any thing that would help to prepare or bring etc... Thanks
  17. Fair play, you're a better man than me. After numerous successful attempts at "sabotaging" the weekly shopping trip (multiple expensive and completely unnecessary purchases. Deliberate time wasting, mild disagreements etc..) It was decided some time ago that it was better all round if I remained in the car while the missus went in on her own....
  18. No we're in South Birmingham but we've had a long standing relationship with them and they deliver next day. Our local supplier is Global sales in Kings Heath who are also excellent.
  19. Joe..Just spoke to Buxtons about getting our 201 upgraded.. They say providing it falls within the designated serial numbers they will do it free.... We're putting it through in a couple of weeks.. I'll let you know what the serial numbers are when we do it..
  20. I didn't realise you did small hedge work as well..................
  21. Great pics, Steve . Like the mog set up. How long did it take?
  22. Hi Jon. Perhaps we can get a fitting for the mog
  23. Went to school in Totnes many moons ago. That's the dart
  24. Be interesting to see it do felling work!
  25. You should come and spend some time up in Brum
