  1. Last time I saw something like that was at a free festival... Stonehenge I think
  2. Is that like Johnny Quick's "midnight back cut" service? I like the milling idea, if all the other options are off the table.
  3. Logs are staying, brash is coming out. (If we do it) House has been unoccupied for years and is about to be renovated so making a mess and minor damage isn't an issue,
  4. You will when I reveal it's whereabouts Don't want to encourage any poachers until we come to a decision. (Present company excepted, of course) I will post some photos... (With the location setting switched off) on my phone tomorrow. Thanks mate Timon
  5. S'right Stubby, he's given us other good work so we don't want to give him the hump...
  6. That sounds like experience talking
  7. If we end up doing it the timber would be up for grabs. Would only be viable if someone were to mill it on site as it has to come out through the house. You've got me thinking now Steve.... Thanks Timon
  8. This is the next logical step... My oppo did the quote so I don't have any pics. We're going round to see him tomorrow to do another job so I'll post some pics.
  9. We've just booked in a dismantle/removal of a large mature cedar. Tree is about 150 yrs old and in great shape. There are no preservation orders on it, the new owner of the property simply wants it gone. Because of our charitable status and the work we do the customer is keen for us to do the work and he is paying a (very) good price for the work. We are not short of work and business is good. I really don't like the idea of removing a beautiful healthy tree. If we don't take the job then another firm will do the work so the tree is coming down one way or another. What would you do?
  10. Another cool vid Reg. How did you initially access the tree? I couldn't see a mainline or a strop while you were getting past the ivy on the first part of the climb. Thanks for sharing.
  11. Nice crisp winters morning -1c in the Midlands, Jon
  12. Snowing in Coventry Jon. Sticking as well mate.
  13. I've used a shovel in my right hand to steady the top of the panel and left hand underneath the panel to lift it up to the top of the posts. Stand in the middle and gently lower evenly into the recesses. It's sounds difficult but it is the best way I know and I've done a few.
  14. That looks really neat... My missus was admiring your work as well.
  15. Excellent work , Mark. The table came up a treat. Well done mate!
  16. 1.9 tdi engine. Be alright for carrying tools and doing quotes. I recon our lot would destroy it in an afternoon. Not exactly overpowered.
  17. Bad day at the office......
  18. Hi Elliot , I just drove it down there and they fitted them on the spot. Tyres took a fortnight to order. Excellent service. Timon
  19. I'm awaiting a reverser box for the front. One problem we have is fitting it in around the treework. Once I've got a reverser it will become a priority. Incidentally if anyone wants the contact for the tyre people give me a PM they were WELL cheap...
  20. New set of tyres fitted on our U1250AG today... Brand new continentals. And about time....
  21. Old unimog tyres..... Getting a new set of 4 tomorrow so we'll be using the old ones for this very purpose. Not quite as practical as Huck's trampoline though.....
  22. Thanks Mick! Timon
