  1. Should have said all Husqvarna,Moffat,Parkinson Cowan,Zanussi,Electrolux,Partner,Jonsered,Gardena,Flymo parts are sent from Distri parts, dont be surprised if a micro wave door turns up instead of your air filter.
  2. Just to get the full picture, we were a private company Hyett Adams Ltd, owned by Lord Dickinson, we took over Partner from JT Lowe, and Jonsered from West Mac, Electrolux toke over the company and removed all non Electrolux products we were selling, Sandvik, Bernard, later Husqvarna split completley from Electrolux, the only connection now is Distri parts which is still an Electrolux company, it is also in Aycliffe just next door to Flymo.
  3. Husqvarna UK was based in Stonehouse in Gloucesterhire, it was taken over by the a group company, it is now controled by by the Aycliffe Flymo factory, where they also control Jonsered, Mcculloch,Partner Consumer, and Gardena, the only products they do not control is Husqvarna Construction,Diamont Boart.
  4. I guess Husqvarna ( Flymo ) in the UK take the line that they have never sold this model so why should they set the parts up and order them, ranting at Sweden will make not an atom of difference, it would be like them condoning you boys bringing in models from the US, which is another sale they have lost.
  5. Just checked, the wrap handle is set up, but the top cover in the latest ipl is not so there is no way it came from Distri parts.
  6. Not set up means it is not in the UK inventry, the wrap handle and filter is set up, however the top cover is not
  7. I will have to speak to Ian there, all the parts i have looked at are not set set up, also there is no power increase using this filter.
  8. these parts are not available in the UK, the parts will not be set up for models that are not sold here.
  9. Really sorry to have opened this can of worms, i think a disclamer is the answer, for your own peace of mind.
  10. This is a good comparrison, get your car chipped and what would the insurance company say should somthing happen?
  11. Sorry to correct you but all pro chainsaw accidents are reported to the HSE the saw gets impounded and returned to the importer, they would then report on the condition of the saw, i am sure they would notice it had been moded, as for accidents nobody expects to set out in the morning to cut them selves, these things unfortunatly happen, if the saw has penetrated the trousers the manufacturer will get invoved, i have been there so i know the what happens. As i said i am not critisising just asking the question.
  12. I am sure all this port and muffler modifications increase power, it probably increases chain speed and creates power bands, not to be funny and critise anything that has been done, but what happens if somebody has an accident with a moded saw, the HSE gets involved, Husqvarna get envolved, trousers get cut through and the s t hits the fan because it is no longer a standard saw withe the spec quoted in the operators manual??
  13. It incorperates the the side cover
  14. The 288 cylinder should fit directly onto the 181, other than the bigger bore it had a deco valve, make sure you hav re connected the impuls pipe, and you may need to richen the mixture a little, the early 181 had a carb govenor which worked off vibration ) ball and spring ) if this opens too early it will run very rich on full revs
  15. Clutch side cover is the chain brake which i did mention.
  16. Yes, very nice with the 3/8 chain, but you can do that on a 560
  17. A saw should start with the brake on, just check the condition of the clutch, sprocket bearing and wear on the crank journal, any wear on these items can cause starting issues with the brake on.
  18. The 562XP is not brought into the UK, there are more differences than you first imagine, yes it has the 560 cylinder, but everything on the clutch side is different, bar pad ( big for 3/8 ) the oil pump, pump gear, sprocket, bar pad protecter, crankshaft, chain catcher, chain brake, hand guard, air filter and top cover, as for the power not too sure why people say it is better than the 560?
  19. Just one comment about extended warranty, warranty is is a fault in materials or manufacture, not fair wear and tear, miss use, abuse, lack of maintenace, doent matter if it has five years warranty, it will be refused if any of the latter.
  20. Hate electric sharpeners, gets cutters too hot and case hardens them, then loses its edge quickly and cannot be sharpened with a file, stones need constant dressing, sharpen with s file by hand.
  21. Have to agree with all of the comments, rebuild with the same underlying problem and it will seize again, he needs to do a vacum test on the crankcase, strip and clean the carb, test the tank breather, check the filter in the tank, check the fuel hose for splits or cracks, check the engine rpm with a taco 12500 is about right, make sure it is a dry seizure and not bearings breaking up, the early 181 had two different size bearings, the flywheel side was smaller, make sure this is not spinning in the crankcase, make sure the baffle in the mufffler is not breaking up, i know this is quite a list but if you do not want it to seize again.
  22. Just trying to point out other issues rather that leaking seals can cause engine seizures
  23. Nobody here has talked about correct engine rpm, blocked fuel filter, what sort of max revs did he set it too, does he have a taco? part blocked fuel filter will lean out the mixture, part block internal filter in the carb will lean out the mixture, good oil and a 50-1 oil mix is perfectly ok for the machine, have run 181,281 and 288 on 50-1 mix on test bench for many hours with no problems.
