  1. I have a customer who is doing some repairs to a Unimog Transfer Box (sorry don't know which Mog it is) and has replaced the oil with the same industrial gear oil 220 they use in the winch systems this company builds. The oil is foaming up after about 20 mins use. What oil do people put in theirs? I was thinking an EP90 GL4 would be better but didn't know if they use a thinner oil like a UTTO. Any help would be much appreciated Jon
  2. Great to see you out and about must feel good to get some fresh air. Good luck in your continued recover. We are all rooting for you.

  4. The pallet firm we use seems to send everything up to a hub in London even if the delivery address is just down the road from the depot that picks up from us. Go figure
  5. Hi Sean, I know that I am a stranger to you but your story is one that has touched and amazed me. Stay positive and its great to hear you have good friends and family around you. The Arbtalk community is a strong one and I am sure anything we can do to help you recover, even if that is messages of support will be done. Stay strong mate. Jon
  6. Whats the minimum wage in Haribo then Mark?
  7. Very Sad day indeed. But he leaves behind great memories and a great legacy of books.
  8. Rolls Royce Other 1 Ton Dually | eBay Would turn a few heads I think:biggrin:
  9. Sorry to hear that. Good to see you back on the forum. Hope you make a full recovery. Jon
  10. Hi Andy hope all is Ok with the oil. Any problems let me know. Jon
  11. Hi Andy I understand your annoyance, I am a bit annoyed myself. Which is why I have spoken to the person in responsible for the listings. i am not sure why we have Oregon products listed because we have always blended our own lubricants and sold our own brand chain oil which everyone who has used it is happy with it. All I can do is apologize and if you want to ring the office ask for me and we can chat about it. If you want to use the product but you end up not being satisfied with its performance I will try and sort you out a refund. hope this helps Jon Reardon Production Manager
  12. I have got the guy who does the online stuff looking at some of these postings, and hopefully clearing up the confusing ones. We do not sell Oregon products so not quite sure why it was listed as that in the first place.
  13. Hi Andy I am sorry you have had an issue with our product. To be honest I do not have a lot to do with the online sales, and my colleague assures me that it says in the description that the oil we sell is not Oregon but Rye Oil Mineral Chain Oil. The way Amazon list products is very confusing and they actually make it quite hard for companies to sell products that are their own label, you need bar codes etc. A full refund has been offered. But if you use the oil I think you will be more than satisfied. If you want I can point you in the direction of some people who use or products and can tell you what they think of them. Any further problems ring me at the office. Sorry for any confusion Jon
  14. Drunk History. I haven't laughed so much at a show in a long while.
  15. You could try Dave at DA tree surgeons his number is 07933 729227
  16. Hi call around local suppliers or join a local buying group. Also check your tank and make sure it hasn't got any cracks in it. Good thing about oil is the ability to shop around. Also don't be afraid to haggle. If you want any advice give me a shout. Jon
  17. Its a pity garages are not legally bound to put an expiration date on the fuel they sell and display the ethanol content. This would highlight the issue a bit more to ordinary consumers who don't know or understand what the problems are.
  18. Has anyone got any idea what types of biodegradable lubricants are needed in machinery being used on environment agency, woodland trust, National park land etc? Is it just bio Chain oil and Bio Hydraulic oil, or is the contractor expected to change engine, gear and transmission oils as well? Many Thanks in advance Jon
  19. I would think it takes a brave person to be late paying a Tree surgeon. Baring in mind your access to chainsaws, axes etc.
  20. SHPD 15w/40 engine oil. API CI-4 classification will be more than adequate in a range of diesel engines. I wouldn't use the UTO. Vehicle manufacturers are now starting to move away from universal oils. Modern large off road machines tend to use a high grade 15w/40 and a stand alone UTTO for the transmission and hydraulics.
  21. I was talking more about the standard letter they send out. It is fairly obvious at the moment that any cut in taxes would have to be raised elsewhere. But it would be nice to know exactly how much this particular tax raises for the exchequer. Not much in the grand scheme of thing I would have thought. But if your a regular user of Aspen or the Stihl equivalent it adds a fair bit to your running costs.
  22. Typical Government hogwash. The problem is the people in charge of these departments are not experts, politicians generally have no clue about how industry functions. We hit exactly the same brick wall when we petitioned them about the driver cpc training. They will only listen when a significant amount of people start shouting about it. Both Plumpton college and Hadlow college are customers of ours so I am going to see if the can get the students on their Arb courses to sign up and maybe the colleges themselves can start asking the government questions.
  23. I was looking at something very similar the other day when I was talking to our additive supplier about formulating a low saps 10w/40 for commercial Euro 5 engines. Makes good bed time reading.
  24. Hi does anyone know of a person or company, preferably in Kent/East Sussex that has a regular supply of 1.2m x 1.2m pallets? Decent quality, strong enough to take 4 x 205 ltr barrels. Thanks Jon
  25. We cut back our yellow pages advertising a while ago. Was costing us an absolute fortune. Far more than we were getting in orders through it. The guy still comes round trying it on, bit embarrassing really. Word of mouth is the best advert, good product , good service and hopefully people will recommend you. As someone said earlier parish and local magazines are good low cost source of advertising.
