  1. Yes, the old saying "you don't know till you try it" springs to mind, if you don't have a go you will never now. Take care bud. Sent from my iPhone using Arbtalk
  2. The grass isn't always greener? Or you can't have your cake and eat it? Are you back working after the incident? Sent from my iPhone using Arbtalk
  3. But it costs what it costs, if you think it will take 2 days to do it then charge 2 days money, but if it takes you 2 days and another crew take and charge a day then its pointless you matching their price and loosing out. I've only under priced a couple of jobs and have worked hard never to let it happen again. I put on what it will take me and my lads to do the job, the customers can take it or get someone else to do it. Don't work for nowt. Sent from my iPhone using Arbtalk
  4. I say this as it baffles me people who are supposed to be professional tree surgeons but don't know how much to charge to do the work???? Surely if you don't know what to charge then should you really be doing these jobs? It's all down to your costs and what you want out of the job. Sent from my iPhone using Arbtalk
  5. How much do you normally charge to do jobs? Surely you know how long it will take to do the job? What do you normaly charge per day for work like this? Add it up and that's yer price. Sent from my iPhone using Arbtalk
  6. I have a stein trolly, had it for 2 years and i could count the times it's been used on 1 hand. I have a tracked chipper so that helps. Sent from my iPhone using Arbtalk
  7. 22 degrees here, Sent from my iPhone using Arbtalk
  8. You are always better getting your facts straight before telling anyone a price, saves hassle in the long run. Sent from my iPhone using Arbtalk
  9. Err, why the cocky answer? Just because I don't want to throw away good teeth in need of a sharpen? Why be cocky Ty? If I save 2.50 per tooth and I have 8 teeth????then that's a good saving. I've read your post for a few years and you most key talk sense but on this you've been a bit of a plonker with your answer. Sent from my iPhone using Arbtalk
  10. Mattocks are really good for doing roots. Maybe an old silky too. I usually dig round with grubbing mattock then cut roots with the ax end of mattock, leave enough stump to use as leverage an your away. Sent from my iPhone using Arbtalk
  11. Great trousers though! I might get a pair of Large to try, but like I said I ain't worn large since school and I'm 43 now. Lol. Sent from my iPhone using Arbtalk
  12. Bit difficult when you have worn them for a day. I ordered them mail order from jonsie, didn't expect the sizes to be so different from other normal sizes that's all, then the give. Sent from my iPhone using Arbtalk
  13. After speaking to Dean at global I am getting mine sharpened through him. £3 each. It's ok to price them in but why throw them away if you can get more use out of them? Also where is the nearest competitor with a stump grinder? I have at least 2 in the same town as me so adding another 60 quid onto the job won't work I'm afraid. Sent from my iPhone using Arbtalk
  14. Mattock or if big stump grinder. Sent from my iPhone using Arbtalk
  15. When u coming down again Paul? Lol Sent from my iPhone using Arbtalk

  19. We don't have anywhere that sells gear round here so no choice. I'm an xl in pfaner and Stihl so thought xl would be right in these, also now worn for a couple of days the have given quite a bit more than I thought they would. Sent from my iPhone using Arbtalk
  20. I've worn mine again today and I'm just not happy with the fit. The xl are massive, gutted. I think the size description is way out. Sent from my iPhone using Arbtalk
  21. Even more expensive:) lol Sent from my iPhone using Arbtalk
  22. I use 2t in all my 2 stroke kit, and I use 4t in my grinder, rotorvator and mowers. It can sit I. The rotorvator with no ill effects on the carb rubbers etc, also when grinding the fumes used to make me feel ill, same with hedge cutting etc. I made the switch around 3 years ago now and all though it costs more it goes against you tax as a running cost. (I know you will know this Stevie) I wouldn't use anything else now. They even do Diesel!! Sent from my iPhone using Arbtalk
  23. I tow a tracked 150 on my TT105g some times as I can get my stump grinder on also. Its fine, tows great. Sent from my iPhone using Arbtalk
