  1. That's why I won't go vat reg, I spoke to a lot of customers and potential customers and when asked about the vat a lot of them would go for someone who wasn't vat reg, in some cases not because its 20% more cost but the fact it's another tax and if they don't have to pay it they won't. Hodge
  2. Vat reg you could claim vat back on all your purchases, down side is you will have to charge 20% on top of your normal fee. Hodge
  3. What sort of saddo's would use that? Sent from my iPad using Arbtalk
  4. Because he is a Liverpool player and that's that. The punishment is to the player. If a lorry driver gets done for drunk driving while not at work and he then looses his licence and his company suffers should he only be banned from driving after work? No and the same for this. Liverpool should fine him for letting his club and team mates down. I'm so glad he didn't get to lift the prem trophy. And we ain't all Man U fans mate. I'm a city fan and can't stand the little weasel. Sent from my iPad using Arbtalk
  5. That's my point exactly. Last month I had a £1000 repairs on my landy, new lights on my trailer, new tow hitch on my trailer. This month new set of blades for chipper, 4 pairs sharpened and a new roller box cover. All this has to be paid for on top of the usual costs. Its taken me a long time to fully understand how to run a business and being cheap and winning all the work is really a short term thing. Hodge
  6. Carharrt or arbour wear mate, tough and long lasting. Sent from my iPad using Arbtalk
  7. I really don't know how some of you can sustain a business on prices like £ 390 for 2 climber and a chipper? So as well as public and employers liability insurance do you have tools/chipper/trailer insured? Van insurance? Running costs, servicing, road tax etc? No wonder our industry is in such a state with prices like that. I'm not having a dig at anyone I am just surprised you can run a business on such low rates. Sent from my iPad using Arbtalk
  8. Saw this and thought of you!! Hodge
  9. Awesome book, puts a smile on my face every time I flick through it. Buy it! Hodge
  10. That's fair enough Steve. Its good that you do that for your son, a lot of kids play football and its great for friendship building. Hopefully the kids won't be taking a bite out of each other.. Hodge
  11. Football is not to blame, if you think it is you are deluded. The sport of football has changed so much in the last 25 years since the money came into it so much. Unfortunately some players are corrupted by the glamour and money that goes with the spotlight. There are not that many incidents in such a huge sport. There are incidents in all sports, cycling, boxing, athletics, ice skating etc. but they don't get the exposure of football. If you don't like footy don't watch it. Hodge
  12. Fill partner mate Hodge
  13. What hold it all gizmo? I use aspen and have the spout too, do they have something else? Hodge
  14. IMO, the Stihl can is best easy to see how much fuel and oil is in it. The spouts are good too. Unless husky put a window so you can see the contents then they will always be second best. Hodge
  15. He's a scumbag no matter how good he is. Hodge
  16. That's all that's in the manual mate, maybe ask Timberwolf or call Graham at Orange plant. Hodge
  17. What do u need the torque setting for? Hodge
  18. He ain't that good, he's had one good season for Liverpool and everyone thinks he's gods gift. Hodge
  19. Horrible littler sewer rat! Hodge
  20. Nice little job today, made a lot easier as we could get he chipper into the garden, all the cherry stayed and Angus the groundie took the spruce. All done by 12. Hodge
  21. Chippers love TLC mate, give it a grease and make sure you keep the blades and anvils sharp. Hodge
  22. There are torx bolts holding the roller blades on, clean em out and take em off. The anvils are pretty easy to do, take roller box off and there is one there. Hodge
  23. Maybe they do sell it but when I used to ring up they never had it in. I would rather pay £20 cartage rather than drive a round trip of 30 miles and use up a couple of hours in time. Hodge
  24. Rob d used to have them on a TW 150, there was an arrival in forestry and British timber magazine a few years ago. Hodge
