  1. Some people have no common sense regarding when to ring. If it's late let it go to message. That call could be a nice 2k job or a £60 quickie at the end of the day on the way home. It's all potential work and money. Never turn your nose up at someone calling because it doesn't fit your schedule. If you are not getting calls then you could be over the moon at someone calling at 9pm on a Sunday........
  2. The 55 lt drums are great, they fit in my fuel store no problem[emoji1362]
  3. Stihl chainsaws buddy.....I have also changed to battery husky stuff too as it's far better than stihl, it keeps the amount of petrol I use down quite a bit.
  4. I used Aspen for over 10 years but I have now switched to Stihl moto mix as I can buy it in with more ease. I buy it pre mixed. It's excellent stuff, none of my equipment has ever had fuel problems since moving away from normal petrol. Carbs don't gum up, rubber does not perish, I haven't used a strummer in a couple of years and it starts no problem. For me it's worth the extra money.
  5. Hi Pete I have passed your number on to a guy called Aaron. He's a decent lad and a hard worker. Hodge.

So many people out there starting out and charging low prices to get work......bloody pointless. They soon realise that the big Oak tree they priced for peanuts and insta cockswinging pictures is full of nails and has ruined their nice new 880 chain, or that their chipper needs fixing or their truck broke down or their chipper needs fixing again but bought it because it was cheap....be a realist and price realistically!! If people want to price a job cheap then let them crack on. They won't be round long.

I was told by a local fencing supply company that all the timber is being used on the HS2 project or being exported to Japan....
  10. I'm sure most tree surgeons on here deal with this type of project on a regular basis, I know I do. It's surprising how many people buy a property with a TPO'd tree or tree and think that once they own the property they will be able to do as they want with the trees, and as we know this isn't the case. I take it your house is the one on the left? The trees could be thinned out or reduced but by doing that they will react and put growth on, you are starting a cycle of work that will continue for the life of the trees. As much as I love trees I wouldn't have TPO'd trees on my property.
  11. So am I, I'm going to get it weighed [emoji79] let's see what it comes out at. I'll problem be in for a shock[emoji85]
  12. I'm going to take mine and get it weighed.[emoji79]
  13. Cheers bud, I'm trying to keep it real....Arb is a great career of people tale it for what it is.....
  14. And where does the money come from to pay the lad his £150-60 team leader money??? This industry doesn't generate that type of money. Customers don't want to pay loads on tree work. It's a fact I've learnt in 20 years in the industry.
  15. I've had a few pairs of Arbortec trousers ove the years, unfortunately I've either sent them back or sold them on as I find the sizing off once they stretch and wear in. I have had their boots also but didn't last as well as airstreams and I have a smock which is good but the zip broke, to be fair they sent me a new jacket which is still going strong. I remember want to use the trousers but they just don't fit me as well as Pfanner.
  16. You can't have everything sadly. In this industry it's how it is. You should look at the plus points. 18 grand a year employed, holiday pay, sick pay etc and a job. From you post in response I think you may be in the wrong industry.
  17. I get what you are saying and I haven't to be honest but I don't tow with it full, I go to tip before towing the trailer. I will get it weighed when full as I'm curious too. [emoji106]
  18. this was a large Oak stump in bedrock, the Jo Beau sorted it in just over an hour and only broke 1 tooth..
  19. a nice sycamore for the Jo Beau to munch on....
  20. I have a 130 crew cab tipper, it's my 3rd one. I had the last one for 12 years. I get a good load of chip in mine and have plenary of top sites. Transits May get plenty of chip in but won't be legal driving full or towing I suspect. I have updated suspension and air bags on the rear, updated anti roll bar. It's perfect for what I need for my business, I can get it in where transits and the likes won't go.. Let the haters hate.
  21. I know, some jobs I've been doing I will say to the lads imagine this with the 150 and we just laugh, it is a big improvement but I have a lot to thank the 150 for, so I guess it's just my choppers evolving
  22. It's excellent thanks Scott, very happy with it. You? Here are some pics of the trailer, I think it is the same as Scotts. I can get the HB20 on the back no probs. I was lucky enough to get this off eBay as I looked around for ages for one.
  23. That's the 230 on the Brian James. Next time I have the grinder on as well I will get a pic.
  24. It's a 10ft but they don't make that one anymore, they are like hens teeth. The new ones are 12ft.? If you can find one they have Timberwolf laser cut into the front crossmember.
  25. I have the Timberwolf Brian James trailer for my 230, I can track it to the front and get my HB20 tucked on the back no bother. I also chip with the 230 on the trailer as the ramp folds flat and you can let the hopper down and as the bed is pretty low it's fine.
