  1. I'm sure David knows what he's doing, perhaps he can come on Arbtalk and get expert advice on running the country.
  2. Blair opens the flood gate on benefits though, gave loads away to anyone.
  3. It's not as cut and dried as that though is it, young lass I knew wanted to get knocked up so she didn't have to work and could get a house and money off the council, and she did, 4 kids different dads, Sky TVs, smokes, has a bloody car and goes to Spain on Holliday, now that's abusing the system and that's wrong. The system should be policed better to avoid these types getting benefit that others genuinely need.
  4. We get child benefit as do all parents, we get 15 hours a week of child care given and we take it. I pay tax and I work hard so how is that hypocritical?
  5. Well it's not just mine is it?
  6. I wouldn't, I make more money from trees than stumps!
  7. Just offer it as part of your services, you make it work for you. It works for me, I grind my own stumps, not fussed about anyone else.
  8. That's a responsible way to look at life it's the way I was brought up but a lot of people think they are owed something who's to blame for that? My wife is a teacher, she works 14 hrs most days educating those that want to learn and having to deal with those that don't. Here wage works out at not much more than minimum wage for the hours worked. She has a student loan to pay back, we pay for child care and we choose to do this and we don't moan about it we just get on with it. Some posts on here I agree with some I don't. That's life, live it!
  9. The parents
  10. As we have said many times before on Arbtalk, some crews will work for nothing, I don't care anymore. I put my price in and move on. Even when it's slow I don't put lower quotes in and since I have adopted this approach I have had my busiest year to date.
  11. Unless your a clever sod like you😜
  12. Mine is a Td5, mine had oil dripping from the same area, the oil leak on mine was from the cam shaft oil seals, £500 to get that sorted. Now there are no leaks......for now;)
  13. It wasn't meant in a nasty way, I don't know you have disability. My point was that from a photograph it's hard to make a correct diagnosis. I own a defender and had a nasty oil leak, I took it to the garage I use and it was sorted in no time. It can leak from various places on the engine/gearbox. Better to get it right than messing about.
  14. Why not take it to a reputable garage and get them to have a look rather than a poor photograph on an Internet forum full of "experts" 😏
  15. It's simple, don't go on Facenook or Treebay as they are pants!
  16. Nice Sycamore to come out, TPO lifted due to K deusta. All the wood stayed at the school for the staff. Stump is going to be ground out. Thanks to Ollie, Joe and Ste for a good job!!
  17. I want to read it but that means logging in! I HATE FACE BOOK!!
  18. Ditto, I hate Facebook!
  19. HB 20 all day long, the turntable is excellent. Get the extra set of wheels though. Makes it more stable on slopes.
  20. Ian c or Johnny walker?

    New truck

This morning the landed steering went funny, I called up my dealer and they said take it straight in, I did and it was a swiped UK joint on the steering, they gave me a landrover 90 and will fix mine ASAP. That's why I take it to my main dealer. So another £150 quid. I had a look at an Isuzu d max tipper today, online not in the flesh so that's another line of thought to ponder.

    New truck

I take my Landy to my local main dealer as they are more reliable than the other landrover specialists in my are, that's because they give me a landrover to use while mine is in getting fixed and they get me in straight away. It's had a new gearbox and transfer box, it's had cam shaft oil seals done recently, head gasket and other bits. I just think that if I can split the work load between the Landy and another vehicle it will ease up on the wear and tear a bit.
