I think my funnest one was a good few year back. I had cut my leg with a Stanley knife doing something daft. After it still leaking a hour later I decided it needed stitching so boiled a needle and some fine fishing line and set about the job after a reasonable amount of smoke and rum. My girlfriend at the time walked in halfway through, fainted and cracked her head open on the cooker. Me not being fit to drive made it an ambulance job for her and a right ear chewing for me from both the ex girlfriend and the nurse gluing her head up.
  3. My husky 550 just had a swim whilst running. I treated it like you would a old school saw, removed plug and pulled it over upside down till no more water came out, dried plug and re fitted it it then fired so I ran it flat out till all the water stopped coming out the exhaust! After that I buried it into the fire wood pile and worked it hard for 10min to get it warm and dry. Is there any thing else it needs doing to keep it good? Am a bit worried about the auto tune gubbins 🫣 yes I fully expect to have the piss taken!
  4. Your customer base will change for the better as by being vat registered your seen as more legit and better heeled customers will pay for that as they see it “premium service “
  5. That is missing the address of the local pikey site. Boards outside of job do work, we used to have card holders on them years ago, a few jobs came of it 👍
  6. A elderly customer of ours has one of them, reckons it’s the easiest starting saw he has ever had.
  7. How’s the recovery going @eggsarascal
  8. As well as a hard prune I would also pick all the fruit off for a year or two so they put there energy into recovery rather than fruiting
  9. Have a look through here @Adam Bl Sawmill Directory | Find A Sawmill Near You | Sawmill Directory SAWMILLERS.CO.UK Sawmill finder for the UK market. Find a company in your area. A directory of static and mobile...
  10. Or there still working out how to send that emoji s through a head set!
  11. Customer wants it “kept under control” and they want to turn a coin!
  12. We need pics - only to advise in his best interest!
  13. Don’t over look the stihl 201 back handle. Excellent power to weight ratio, light and plenty of guts to it.

    Topical

A quick google says it Russian bull propaganda
  15. Take it easy eggs. Mine took a while to sort itself self completely. I got told off by the nurse for taking a hole saw to the cast in the palm of my hand so it would sit over the gear leaver 🤣
  16. That’s harsh, sending our best from this way
  17. I’ve met some bullshit merchants in my time but this is well up there with the worst of them.
  18. Is there a age limit to get the visa sorted?
  19. Only 4ton come over here, our ifors average more like 6t 🤣 We work on the theory we were empty going the other way so take an average weight and we will be fine! those days are gone here as they have relatively recently given the island a dedicated traffic cop and he has made a mark and earned his commission by giving lots of tickets for insecure loads and weight offences. I’m yet to make his acquaintance but it rumoured he would try and give you a ticket for bald tyres on a road roller! There are now trailers going round with nets over a load of sand as he is that tight 🤣🤦‍♂️
  20. Did not learn from covid? Stuff from china is bad for us! 🤣
  21. A joint of gammon boiled on the wood burner on Sunday will last me most of the week In sandwichs with home made beetroot pickle
  22. No idea what it is but we cut one down from 8ft to 6 inch once for a customer expecting it to die and be asked to grind the stump at a later date but no the bastard thing grew back with a vengeance.
  23. We have done a similar deal with a turner in the past for customers, not a massive demand but it is there
  24. An end to the benifit system as we know it might do the trick. I’m all up for helping those who genuinely can’t work- they should be supported BUT the vast majority of benifit claimers need to be given a “job” to still get their benifits. If I was in charge they would be out sweeping the streets and digging the ditches out! Once the job was completed to the required standard they would receive a fair wage. If they didn’t like it they could go and get a better job more to their liking! As to the community service lot they would be doing similar. I reckon as a result most of the unemployed would find a “better job” fairly quickly and start to put a bit back in the pot but if they didn’t the country would be clean and tidy! Win win 👍
