  1. The leaves burn better than they chip but the wood is fire proof

    Jokes???

That took me a double take to get that 👍

    Boing

I don’t think it was being rigged, he is pulled into the stem as the rope goes tight. My guess is he still had his anchor in high up and forgot to remove it before the back cut!
  4. Better than climbing the horrible things, when wet they’re like climbing a sheet of glass covered in snot! You got a spelling mistake there my ride is just bent not Bentley 🙄
  5. Is @Rupe still about?
  6. I’m not worried either way, it’s looks fine from my house!

    Jokes???

When you zoom in for a closer look mrs trousers is still in the car grinning 🤣
  8. I did see one with a fine mesh in the roof that had a Ali trap door over it to open while chipping so the wind could escape. can’t comment on how well it worked as only looked at it out of work but the principal made sense to me.
  9. You won’t regret that, go see the world and realise how bad things have become here then find something better to park and call home. If I had time round again I would be gone in a heartbeat
  10. Yes sand will give you a heat battery realising heat for a few hours after the fire is out. Kiln died sand is the easiest to pour in. Don’t not under any circumstances block off all the holes, the highest one needs to breathe or you can potentially make a bomb!
  11. My 160t spends most of its life as a door stop. The oiler is crap and the bars are made by Cadbury.
  12. No figures but you can winch a stuck lwb shogun and 8” chipper (both on their belly across a field from a ft round connifer. That was with a 5.5t pull winch that tripped the thermal overload out till we ran a double line back to the truck so in theory a potential 11ton pull! Anchor strop was a couple of ft up the stem which didn’t move.
  13. Husky 550 is nicer to use than the stihl 261 imo. It is far better balanced, feels lighter in use and is far more responsive. And that’s coming from a stihl fan! pick the best local dealer and go with what they sell, stihl, husky or echo Will all give you equal value for money
  14. All depends on how willing the local tree officer is to get out the office and get it done. It can be done very quickly if they feel it’s needed
  15. No pegs, to the nuckle for me. Unless the previous shape was out then adjust as needed
  16. Just don’t use spikes in them or the heal will split as you pull the buckle tight
  17. Am I reading this right that a tpo/ con area is completely irrelevant if you are abating a nuisance? Therefore you could completely muller a decent protected tree providing you stopped at the boundary line with no TPO permission?
  18. No no and no. Every time I’ve been asked to prove a monkey puzzle I pick a (big) number double it, add a 0 then add the last 3 digits of my fone number for good measure. Funny enough I’ve never won the job 👍
  19. Yes it’s possible as you can cut blocks out then split it down but this is incredibly time consuming. The real question is: Is it worth it? How do you value your time and sanity. With a 025 I would say no thanks, and go to work for a day to buy a load of logs.
  20. The stihl 201 with the external clutch can do it as well.
  21. I’ve done it as well, the old truck had a dent in the door to prove it!
  22. My guess would be Stone quarrying?
  23. Cool pic. Most crane drivers this way won’t do that it’s normally You or the pick not both.
