  1. Just don’t use spikes in them or the heal will split as you pull the buckle tight
  2. Am I reading this right that a tpo/ con area is completely irrelevant if you are abating a nuisance? Therefore you could completely muller a decent protected tree providing you stopped at the boundary line with no TPO permission?
  3. No no and no. Every time I’ve been asked to prove a monkey puzzle I pick a (big) number double it, add a 0 then add the last 3 digits of my fone number for good measure. Funny enough I’ve never won the job 👍
  4. SNAP!
  5. Yes it’s possible as you can cut blocks out then split it down but this is incredibly time consuming. The real question is: Is it worth it? How do you value your time and sanity. With a 025 I would say no thanks, and go to work for a day to buy a load of logs.
  6. The stihl 201 with the external clutch can do it as well.
  7. I’ve done it as well, the old truck had a dent in the door to prove it!
  8. My guess would be Stone quarrying?
  9. Cool pic. Most crane drivers this way won’t do that it’s normally You or the pick not both.
  10. Where it’s laid low I wouldn’t worry, most low styles like Dorset, Devon and iow don’t have stakes. Crooks could be as helpful
  11. The only this stihl about that saw is no matter how many times you pull it over the engine will remain still!
  12. Chin up, just think of all that mud when the snow melts!
  13. Looks like it could be a traditional Isle of Wight pattern, other areas are similar but ours are longer than most. Poss because the locals couldn’t hit owt with a small one, it’s getting better now us overnors from England have watered the genne puddle down a bit 🤪
  14. Any chance of any more info of the electrolytes is set up and processes? I understand the basic principles but looks usefull to know more about.
  15. I wonder if next week you will be able to buy a double cab with no seats in the rear like a commercial discovery 🤔
  16. It can be hard to do, when I have to do it I tend to use a side branch that grows out at as close to 90 deg as I can find to fold back again. I will hunt for a pic but won’t promise as I’m not good at taking pics, I’m more of a head down and crack on mentally.
  17. If the head is still higher then the root your fine, function over form is the order of the day 👍
  18. Looks good to me 👍
  19. Double laying is completion level but if you can master it a bloody useful tool in the box for general work as well 👍 good luck and as said let us see what you are working with and the results
  20. Sounds like my wood work! Are they Mortise and tenon joints on the ends? I can make woven hurdles but never tried that style
  21. You can double lay some things but it’s hard work and you will snap a few off! Lay the stem down hill then repleach turning the head back uphill. As long as the top is higher than the root it will work it’s self out. infill planting could be a easier / safer bet.
  22. Excellent, they look smart. can we have a closer pic of the joints please?
  23. It’s all about the trees man! And the girls love it 🥰
  24. A fresh dedicated solar thread would be good and very useful. I’m currently trying to get my head around off grid set ups.
  25. Sweden used to have a deposit system on drinks bottles, does it still @Big J ? I think it’s a brilliant idea
