Hes bought a woodland in NY state. Looks like all secondary re growth forest, after logging on old agricultural land, as trees are all fairly small. Loads of old stone wall field boundaries. So much space in the US......

Not convinced by thoose pics might be natural? Agree, & I suppose that means ivy roots could also, but not seen any reference to it. As ivy doesn't spiral like honey suckle it doesn't seem to girdle above ground.

Don't get why there is not more demand thoughout UK for chesnut fence posts as they last alot better and also more eco than tanalized. You could argue (and some are) that the Wests help with weapons will just prolong the war and lead to more deaths on both sides. Unless ukraine wins in the end, which atm it doesn't look good.... But then I can't see Russian being able to hold/control Ukraine either even if they initially win.?

Think someone on here worked out the initial cost of the (then available) small scale retorts wasn't worth the larger investment over using a ring kilns taking into acount the bonus of the increased yield of retorts but the negative increased cost & the estimated retort/kiln lifespan/number of burns? Doesn't factor in enviro benefits.....only payback on investments...... Might of being in the TVI thread when he decide charcoal wasn't really economical/or worth the effort V firewood? -
Not making headline news anymore but is still reported..... Old news as its stuff thats being dragging on for many yrs V an invasion thats only days old. Also the large scale of the conflict and the associated impacts on NATO europe UK etc So I don't think its that confusing, also no reporting or news channel is un-bais or agenda free etc. Headline news is a only a limited curated selection of what they think is most relevant. Just checked last US airstrike in Syria was 3 yrs ago?

Wonder why its in the amazon but not found or highlighted in other places around the globe ? I'd of of thought similar processes would of occured in many other locations creating such anthropogenic soils, unless there is a specific component or technique used that only occured in amazonia.....
