  1. Annother thing is dunno if you can get the carving narrow tip bars that fit the bar mounts.
  2. Husqvarna 420el is near identical to the best makita ones just different plastic colour. Have used both for firewood and they are decent. quality. Only tiny downside is its not a brushless motor like the newer cordless stuff. so carbon brushes will net replacing eventually but they last for ages. Also the new tooless adjustment thing on cover looks cheap prefered the bolts what they used to have Don't think any corded saws are brushless though as they are old designs that have being around for yrs.
  3. Do you buy in much fertililizer? Price has gone up abit recently Fertiliser prices still climbing in tricky market - Farmers Weekly WWW.FWI.CO.UK Nitrogen prices are continuing to climb due to tight supply, rising gas prices and some panic-buying, say traders. Urea is...
  4. Got the lidl or aldi own version of a silky saw for 5 quid didn't cut at all. Tried sharpening it & still terrible so wouldn't think the pole saw will be very useful lopper part might work though
  5. Robina would seem an ideal wood for its properties not locally grown though and probably more expensive than getting larch or sweet chestnut We sell robinia false acacia in Belgium, England, Wales, Scotland, Ireland, london,Cardiff, chelsea flower show, bbc garden, homefront, WWW.ACACIA-ROBINIER.BE Acheter bois Acacia Robinier adresse grossiste robinier prix négoce terrasse bardage pavés en bois Lille Bruxelles Gent... They use it for kids playground poles.

    Hobbies

Love thoose 2 chunky massive bowls
  7. Alder isn't durable rots very fast but apparently durable if kept wet etc so its an odd one I don't really understand its properties - but i don't think it would be suitable unless your round house is a crannog on a lake / bog and needs piles 🙂
  8. I got a brushless makita drill bare. As thay have a massive range at different prices its hard to compare quality against other brands unless its more specific models and whats best vfm etc. Would be like deciding stihl is poor after only using a ms170.
  9. Similar amount of ash in north wales although estate woodlands are often more varied. Another impact will be a decline in hedgerow trees as the majority are ash. Atleast in the woodlands regen will fill the gaps with other species but the hedgerow trees will be lost more permanently as theres little regen due to flailing Happened with elm.
  10. Do think alternating between 2 chainsaws might be worthwile after using a full tank as whilst crosscutting especially if noodling big rounds across the grain - as this can make chainsaw get very hot. Especially if its hardwoods like oak etc The chain thing sounds unlikely though maybe issue for larger bars as more chain to contract?

    110v saw

Didn't know they existed makita do one in seems Makita UC4051A/1 110V Electric Chainsaw 400mm Bar WWW.FFX.CO.UK Tools, power tools, hand tools, electrical, plumbing supplies, ffx tools, FFX, The Makita UC4051A/1 110V Electric... I have the 240v one and its good.
  12. The link in that tree council pdf is very good as details the other ash diseases along side adb and has good quality pics https://www.observatree.org.uk/wp-content/uploads/2018/01/15_0043_-One-off-literature-Observatree-Pest-Disease-Field-Guides-Chalara_wip16.pdf Alot of ash trees have canker on the coast That alert a tree map sure its everywhere in all squares just not being reported yet? Some more on non-Hymenoscyphus fraxineus ash dieback plus management.. LETTER: Chalara not curable, but certainly avoidable WWW.FORESTRYJOURNAL.CO.UK "It seems to have become common practice to conflate ash dieback and Chalara ash disease."
  13. Interesting, did they find out what was causing the 1980 ash dieback - says there was a a further study & im guessing they they recovered in the yrs after? ResearchGate WWW.RESEARCHGATE.NET ResearchGate is a network dedicated to science and research. Connect, collaborate and discover scientific publications... So was it drought related? Had both very extreme wet and dry summers recently will be be stressing trees making adb from Chalara worse.....? A chance of some recovery if climate improves?
  14. E10 supposedly does use fuel dependent on engine What Car? magazine recently noted an increase in fuel consumption of 10% in modern cars in a recent test. Honda have suggested running older landscape equipment on E10 fuel may result in engines not meeting strict Euro 5 emissions regulations, although all new models produced will comply with Euro 5 emissions regulations whilst running on E10 fuel. https://www.bali.org.uk/help-and-advice/documents/e10-fuel/e10-fuel.pdf
  15. Think its quite easy to spot once you know the signs all the say 80% plus of ash trees with dead tops weren't around before adb. Ash as a species always looked in very good health generally before adb with near zero dead twigs. Think OP probably is adb but from thoose pics hard to tell.
  16. This looks right? Tecomec Cylinder Assy piston suitable for DO.123-309 New WWW.EBAY.CO.UK Tecomec Cylinder Assy piston suitable for DO.123-309 New.
  17. Just being using mine was working faultless before last time I used it, but now getting a red light (indicating overheating motor) after serveral cuts so have to wait several seconds until goes green again. Tried different batteries Might be knackered somehow?
  18. Strimmed a wasp nest hole in ground, lucky I realized it after first few stings so legged it, but still got stung about 10 times.Stings Swelled up for about 4 days and I felt rotten. They chased after me for about 200 metres big swarm of them. Suprised how far they followed from the nest. Lucky PPE stoped most of them getting me as was covered in them trying to sting me could of being alot worse.
  19. E10 FUEL COMPATIBILITY MAKITAUK.COM During the summer of 2021, the standard (95 octane) petrol grade in Great Britain will become E10. Almost all (95%)... EDIT actually doesn't say a yr for makita.... mentions cars 😊 Motorenbenzin – Wikipedia DE-M-WIKIPEDIA-ORG.TRANSLATE.GOOG Says germanys being E10 since 2010 so think saws generally would be E10 "adapted" for awhile.
  20. Mean while in china Its raining drones

    £15/hour

How about this idea not saying its right just putting it up as a counter point of view Bullshit Jobs - Wikipedia EN.WIKIPEDIA.ORG
  22. Also would consider the cordless makita or stihl
  23. Agree about the low power thing suiting 12" more for ms171 But a 14" is more useful generally as can cut though more small branches bundled on a saw horse and better reach and less bending down when snedding etc. Another option might be a small cordless saw stihl or makita...
  24. ms171 is still very fisher price but they are ok. ms261 is the smallest pro stihl way over budget. I'd go for 14"
