  1. I have the samurai version of that one Samurai JD180 Sentei Folding Saw WWW.BUXTONS.NET 180mm Blade length 4mm Tooth pitch Its useful if walking footpaths as fits in a pocket but otherwise I haven't used it that often. I use this larger one if wanting one for a very fine TPI cut on fruit trees etc. Samurai GSF240 Straight Fine Pruning Saw WWW.BUXTONS.NET Designed for fine pruning jobs Blade is fixed and is 240mm in length Hardened teeth ensure a quick cut and increased... The small folding are as good a quality as the larger ones imo, just designed for different uses as a shorter blades is only really suitable for smaller diameter branches. Also the blades are thinner more flexy on both the samurai and silky version V the bigger saws. I have used the silky versions previously...... A group i volunteered with had bought the F180 silky ones as well as a few zubats etc -and the some volunteers managed to snapped the blades trying to cut stuff they weren't suited for. (coppicing hazel). Also blunting brand new silkies buy cutting into the dirt whilst coppicing etc.... 🙄

  4. I think an increasing pecentage of grazing land now appears to be pony paddocks also.
  5. Isn't much of the basic outdoor field veg stuff imported also i dunno...? Suppose that tastes have changed aswell people like exotic stuff like avacados rather than say turnips & cabbage nowadays? Less of the traditional staple outdoor UK veg that suited to UK climate is eaten now maybe? Don't see broad beans in lidl or runner beans but always have green beans.
  6. So we need to "lvl down" to be more like albania as a country then they won'y bother coming.
  7. Horticulture would make UK alot more self sufficient and probably if done right less co2 emissions but the economics don't add up, as global transport is still alot cheaper than labour costs.
  8. Ok but like hordes swarming an army etc invasion is imo abit of an "emotive" phrases if its used for humans . Im not sure how&if this new idea banning all channel crossing asylum status will work? Is the plan they all be sent to Rwanda or is the idea that alot less will arrive after? Most just end up working illegally & staying atm even after they failed to get asylum?
  9. Think the term invasion usually denotes an army conqueoring the country?
  10. You could try a mountfied with the honda engine as a cheaper stop gap. Obviously prob not the same quality but I have heard the new hondas aren't as good as the old ones were anyway. Hope the still will carry on making the engines as they seem better than the B&S ones...
  11. Least with a twin wall it might reduce the tarring up of the flue abit if burning green/non seasoned wood? Best way to know to is test the logs with a moisture meter.
  12. Better leave it nice diagram btw.
  13. Why does it need climbing targets on all sides? (from pic its hard to see)
  14. Yeah you can apparently do redwood cuttings. Propagating Redwoods from Cuttings | Turtle Island Restoration Network SEATURTLES.ORG We are deep into redwood season. Our efforts this month have been concentrated on redwood seed collection followed...

  16. Not a country list that inspires confidence?
  17. China seems to have had a sucess restoring the loess plateau. Was turned into a eroded "desert" now being re-greened.
  18. Phantom Forests: Why Ambitious Tree Planting Projects Are Failing E360.YALE.EDU High-profile initiatives to plant millions of trees are being touted by governments around the world as major... Shame... Lack of aftercare & initial sensible scheme planning etc Bit like some council/charity tree planting schemes in the UK.
  19. Dove stuff seems extra soft, doesn't last as long as others aint it for/marketed at women? Imperial leather etc lasts better.

  23. Alot of Europe doesn't ship to UK anymore since brexit including grube
  24. Don't think its that likely trees will be damaged unless there is no grazing left. Also it is though barking might be because they are after some minerals ( certain trees like willow seem to get barked more often). Mineral blocks etc might make it more unlikely to happen? I duuno if spruce is a tree species they tend to go for? Seem a apple orchard where cows had barked the whole lot, but might of being no grass left at the time. Also know several old hazel coppice areas with cattle under the overstood stools that are heavily grazed. They don't seem like hazel bark but do eat the leaves & new shoots. (browse line visible)
  25. What is incorrect about the information (mainly historical examples) and the idea that "rising costs are stirring social unrest." in that particular article? (Not the conspiracy theories or any wider WEF agenda just the article)
