A mains corded saw for firewood at home is good. Cheap to buy and cheap to run less noise & no fumes V petrol lasts for decades versus batteries that evetually degrade esp if crosscutting firwood alot as that would use up batteries rapidily thus alot of recharge cycles. I have a small battery saw never bother using it for firewood much apart from branches 3inch or less as the chain is smaller pitch thus less grabby Use petrol for the bigger diameter logs as faster.

Think I "Fixed" it. I took the the carb off another saw and it now seems like it runs ok, so looks its was some issue with the carb. Still have another (the same model )not fixed. Symptoms are I can't adjust carb to idle right, either the chain turns or or cuts out, & it also cuts out and bogs in the cut. Think it might be an air leak as tried a new carb and new coil with no improvement Was a cheaper after market chinese coil though. I've checked the piston from exhaust side its looks ok. Anything else to check apart from a pressure vac test?

Hi how did this go? Having similar issues with the same saw. Cut some barn dry half rotton birch up for someone and there was alot of dust think its caused a carb issue.
