    Why can the stumps not be left if its gonna be replanted? Obviously maybe not at 6ft high but cut low. Some may regrow it being an old coppice etc? Seems a very odd and unnecessarily destructive way to managed a PAWS woodland.

    Does sound a but much that taking 3 days but there is always alot more volume of material to remove than expectected on jobs like that. How many truck fulls of stuff was it in the end? A forestry type saw blade on bruscutter might be the tool for it cut all the suckers of at the the base narrow the top down to 3ft?

    Husqvarna XP Power 2 alkalyte is abit cheaper than aspen.

    I don't know norway maple well so not sure on an ID either way but would of guessed at lime. But from googling images of the barks both look similar..... Limes is very light (esp when seasoned) and soft think a norway maple maybe is noticable heavier in comparison like sycamore. Field maple is defo heavier. Also the way lime bark can peel off easy for cordage might ID it?

    Think it was a thing Komatsu Zenoah developed to reduce emissions & use less fuel then husky called x torq and stihl 2 mix.

    FOI request would prehaps highlight if all went to a few large companies? I notice coppicing courses mentioned didn't even realize they had a ticket for that? Thought it would make sense if funding would be for the recognized NTPC tickets?
