  1. Ladys smock / cuckoo flower seems a fairly common flower in pastures. See alot of if about My mini "meadow" or wilderness that has zero proper meadow managament (as not being cut for yrs) is mostly meadow sweet common knapweed oxeye daisy & Wild Angelica and now the odd self seeding oak saplings. Used to be used for sheep and hay. Think its hard to turn improved grassland back in to meadow fast as takes a few yrs to lower fertility etc. Saw/read about someone going to the hassle of stripping turfs to make a meadow and thus removing top soil to reduce fertility. Where i have not mowed in the garden lawn as there was daffs growing is all full of red campion & cow parsley atm. The wild look its on trend at chelsea flower show 😏
  2. Kuwait oil wells burning?
  3. Neigbour has being mulch mowing 5 acres of paddocks (least twice a week at this time of yr) for decades with a tractor - its like a golf course green. Hes decided to let the next door farmer use it for hay this year. Think some people must enjoy mowing alot.
  4. Just had a swarm of honey bees airbourne in the garden. Pretty impressive sight never seen anything like it before Seemed about a 30m2 area of dense flying very noisy bees didn't fancy walking right into the middle denser parts of it. Now they all have buzzed off somewhere
  5. No idea nice patterns though Tree looks half dead
  6. Whitebeam
  7. Yeah that can happen theres knack to it not happening - using the dawgs and blipping the throttle in a certain way etc. Ive found it only normally sometimes an issue with smaller diameter logs under 4inch. A narrow kerf chain and rakers not to agressive makes a less grabby chain & makes a big difference. Or just stick a bigger log on top of all the smaller ones.
  8. Don't think you'll get much for that .
  9. White flys exoskeletons i reckon
  10. That Timbercroc looks cool but I find the traditional type better to use as chucking a single or normally multiple logs on top is for me alot faster than being limited to clamping each log one at a time. Or if lots of wood and it doesn't need to be mobile just stick two rows of posts in the ground or make some frame like this: Oregon do a smaller mobile version of this design that looks ok ....though not keen on it being metal
  11. Bit far north for chesnut coppice poles unless you can go pick some up or find someone local that stocks it. Could try theese guys looks like the have chesnut poles? Handmade wooden fencing in Yorkshire | Woodland Craft Fencing | Yorkshire Hurdles WWW.YORKSHIREHURDLES.COM Our bespoke fencing is hand made to order using sustainable English woodland materials. 12. I dont like the above design at all having tried one. I made a simple folding wooden one from USA type pallets: Which is loads better, its a bit like this one below Ditch the thing in pic would be my advice and get or make a decent one instead. AI bot?
  13. Mog the thick persons idea of a clever person, the torys attempt at gerrymandering seems like it backfired which he admits in this article: 🙂 Local elections 2023: Voter ID backfired on Tories, says Rees-Mogg WWW.BBC.CO.UK The ex-minister suggests his party brought in the controversial measure to boost their election chances. 21. Think i recall seeing it somewhere with crosshatchs carved on the top & others covered in chicken wire to make it less slippy
  22. I agree not ideal
  23. Id prefer less run time but decent power to weight but as batteries are alot less energy dense versus petrol its not the easy esp with the larger battery saws For 1 hr run time you'll probably need to use one of thoose ghostbuster style battery backpacks with the more powerful saws, or go for a lower powered saw with largest possible battery fitted. Theres no free lunch.
  24. Sweet chesnut poles would be ideal i reckon If you live near a SC coppice place would be handy.
  25. I like bay holm oak holly and yew Dont like the ubiquitous cherry laurel it looks ugly imo. No to leylandi
