  1. Was this made in Britain or China? Website is not 100% clear....
  2. I thought drought stressed trees are alot more vunerable to various fungal infections so theese things are combination of different factors maybe? Heres an example^
  3. Seen alot of this thats very severe recently in several locations on plum & damson species. Its even killed a few trees down to the rootstocks anyone else noticed and any pratical way to combat it? Removing all affected branches on multiple trees its very time comsuming. Im wondering its increased prevalance is realted to recent weather/ climate or some new more virulent strain? https://www.rhs.org.uk/disease/blossom-wilt Only the wild bullace seems resistant.
  4. I was thinking drought also maybe its related to a dry summer last yr? https://www.wsl.ch/en/news/2022/06/mass-diebacks-of-scots-pines-caused-by-lack-of-rain-in-mid-and-late-summer.html
  5. Same i think Makitas own bars are cheap..... MAKITA 15" / 38cm 0.325" 0.050" Chainsaw Bar 444038141 WWW.WORLDOFPOWER.CO.UK Makita 15" Guide Bar Genuine Makita replacement guide bar fits Makita DCS3500, DCS4301, DCS3501, DCS410, DCS4300...
  6. I have a fiskars x27 but don't use it much found the 4lb head weight to light for most logs. Means it needs to be swung harder to work effectively versus the 6lbs maul which can often be swung lazily & without much force - the head weight being enough to do the work. Seem this is contrary to the consesus though as nearly all reviews of the fiskars are really posiitve. Don't like axes with shorter handles than 36" for spiltting rounds
  7. I prefer a 6lbs maul head over an 8lbs one. I like the fibre handle mauls like the one you have. Don't think sharpness makes that much difference for mauls. A chain shouldn't blunt so fast it needs sharening every hr unless wood is dirty etc imo. Cutting green wood will blunt a chain alot slower than seasoned wood, and the rounds will split easier green generally. Any rounds that don't split easy, just set them aside and cut them up with the saw saves alot of effort. Plastic flexi trugs are handy for picking up split wood and tipping in log stacks
  8. Once a clients lab chewed my saws bar cover. 🙄 Also ponies drank & emptied all my veg oil once managed to root it out of a tool bag & unscrew the top of the bottle I had it in. Also had rats eat primer bulbs and chew on saws plastic fuel caps & clutch covers now keep saws in a rat proof shed.
  9. I should think the ants are mostly harmless - they are eating the already deadwood & farming aphids. Also dead standing wood branches maybe should be left alone as its good habitat. Id say the dead would is likely a syptom of the enviromental condtions & that old oak trees often do naturally retrench https://www.vetcert.eu/sites/default/files/2019-11/Retrenchment pruning for veteran trees FINAL.pdf
  10. So its seems its all over UK even scotland but the outliers have being kept from spreading or just haven't spread? So is that due to human intervention / eradication or some other reason as surely some isolated trees & woodland will be missed outside main the zone?
  11. Wonder at current advancement how long before its the whole UK? 100yrs or a less than a decade?
  12. Alot of questions but id start by staying maybe just don't bother cutting & taking logs to a tip. Pile them up in a corner of the garden as a "habitat pile" If they are rotten. Unless is a tiny garden and you want to use the space from some other project? Cuttig such rotten wood is always goning to blunt chains very fast. I don't understand relevance of the talk of about some oddly non reversable bar. Bars can be and should be flipped upside down as good practice to even out wear evetually but the first bar won't be worn out for ages Id get a chainsaw file and give sharpening chains a go. 4mm diamter I reckon if its 3/8 mirco Not sure what double guard referes to so from google: So maybe that the reduced kickback nose is one the the "guards" the chain break being the other?
  13. Hasn't it being very dry this yr though ? Do you use mulch or plastic etc as thats makes a massive difference for the first 5 yrs. EDIT see that you use weed mat 🙂
  14. You could get 3 different blades as a different one is best for each thing grass brambles saplings but mulch oergon will do all 3 (kind-of) you only want to use one For grass: Airecut For bramble: Oregon mulch For saplings: Oregon EIA Also the blade needs to be sized to yor machine
  15. I haven't got the patience using one as they rev slow it means also they seem to cut slower so you have to ark then across in front of you in kind of slo mo versus a 2 stroke to cut a sward of grass. Though I liked the idea of less fumes and if you don't mind them being slower they work fine, the hondas top model does have anti vibe mounts also.
  16. Old story but impressive how Woking council managed to get £1.2 billion in debt in real estate investments? Woking council declares bankruptcy with £1.2bn deficit | Local politics | The Guardian WWW.THEGUARDIAN.COM Previous Tory leadership embarked on risky investment spree involving hotels and skyscrapers I thought property was a good investment?

Are you sure as website looks normal? There nice merino socks have being out of stock for yrs though. They used to be £1 a pair on offer - bargin. Should of bought a few 100 pairs enough to last a lifetime ..... There used to be some real good bargin offers on planet X especially when they bought up job lots cheap stock from euro bankrupt companies etc. But they haven't had very many good bargins in the last few yrs just mostly average generic stuff. Id say very few real bargins since covid and brexit generally from any online retailers ....
  22. Think I decided id go with the 525rx if my makita rbc ever stops working. THe other 129r ones a "domestic" machine? Power to weight is worse and no anti-vibe also price aint that much less

Were they cheaper than others I didn't notice. Ive always order from where ever than happens to be cheapest & has the items in stock. Loads of other online shops such as honey bros, gusharts, radmore tucker, sam turner northen arb etc all seem a similar price etc? Bought from several luckily never had any issues.
