  1. Im no familar with her food range but the few shop bought veggies burgers i tried etc always seem to tastes rubbish. Ive done homemade bean burgers from broad beans that were really nice though so they can be made tasty but the supermarket stuff never seemed to manage it? Also might be classed as ultra processed which isn't suppose to be good for you.
  2. Only wanted 1 or 2 for the garden as a novelty problably not worth the hassle geting it from Suffolk to Wales. There is alot of low lying boggy rush covered ground reclaimed from the sea behind embankments about in N Wales though that could suit them. 8. Punky is an good onomatopoeic word for the start of rot & the fluffy wood fibres.......
  9. I think most wood, especially some less durable species stacked outside, has a considerable calorific value decrease even before most visible signs of rot. Some sycamore I cut up recently for someone was well past its best in less than 3 months of being left outside after the trees were felled. The cross-cut end grain texture of rounds cut up from 2 meter lengths. was starting to go "fluffy." I recall some mention of a term in the book Norwegian Wood for firewood past its best.

  19. Council house building leading to gas chambers is abit of a leap. Also socialism definition means different things to different people -the nordic model etc as an example but it often seems to taken as no different from communism.
  20. Id say often un-needed. In most cases I see them used it doesn't make sense to me. I think for example money would be better spent on a strip bio mulch mat rather than the ubiqitious spiral plastic guards used on staggered double rows of native hedging? Yeah trees can do fine in brambles scrub etc which often can protect from animal damage but probably the trees dojust grow alot slower with the light competition. So it depends on if there are deer about etc what is best. Shade tolerant tree saplings supressed under canopy shade can stay tiny for ages until given a chance so its species dependent also. Also might be a different approach id say for protecting trees that need good form for timber and some amenity trees where doesn't matter so much.
